Vortex of Dominion: Humanity's Last Stand
In the cycle 3163, far into the interstellar Era where humans use neural technology, humankind is oppressed with existential threats from the appearing vortexes. Once rulers of countless worlds, the human dominion has fallen apart, leaving only a shaky outpost called The New Facility, the last echo of a broken empire, of humanity.
Beyond its borders, space itself has gone wild. Vortexes tear through the skies, temporal rains fall from a different timeline, climate conditions become unpredictable, and gravity suddenly distorts, throwing populations into peril and devastation.
After years of harrowing survival, humankind learned to counter these unnatural forces after an encounter with the Vortex System, a system of unknown origin which was found inside the vortexes after the first humans entered them. The surviving ones came back to the real world, but not as humans anymore. They became powerful beings, "falling upwards" along the path of neural unlock, and forging their bodies and sense of being into surreal entities, becoming Unbounds.
When a cadet named Bale witnesses a colossal eye 'staring' at him from a different dimension, his fate begins to unravel. Soon after, he discovers that his purpose is more than he ever hopes for.
As humanity clings to survival, Bale’s awakening will test the meaning of being human itself.
Between cosmic horrors, neural evolution, and the slow decay of mankind, one question remains:
When humanity faces extinction, who decides what remains human?
