Pantheon: The Soldier
Arn is a farm boy on the eastern frontier of a vast empire, living a quiet life baking bread with his brother Kael. When a border raid burns their farm to ash and leaves Kael dead, Arn buries his brother and walks the empire’s road not toward the market, but toward war. At the garrison he enlists, and it is the last time he gives his name.
Years of brutal campaigns follow as the empire’s war against a former ally collapses into chaos. Supply lines fail, orders stop coming, and soldiers begin to disappear into retreat. Arn does not. Alongside a handful of men who refuse to abandon the line, he becomes part of a small company forged by loss and endurance.
Decades later, one survivor tells the story of the man who led them. A commander who refused titles and glory, who would only say one thing when asked who he was:
My name is Soldier.
On the morning of their final stand, four hundred men lower their spears against an army twenty times their number. What follows will carry them into legend—and into the pantheon of those who would not kneel.
