The archive of Broken Toys

Collection_0001
Silas Malachai, 23 years old, enters the Toy Factory — a clandestine institution beneath the streets of Chicago — to dispose of anomalous objects: toys and relics that lose their narrative energy and die. He soon discovers he is unlike anyone else: instead of absorbing stories, stories flow *from* him. As he descends through the ranks of the Factory, he comes to realize that his father didn't study the system — he *built* it. And in his diary, whose contents shift with every reading, he left behind a map to something the Factory has feared for decades. The question is not whether Silas will survive. The question is whether the person chosen by stories is a weapon, a resource, or a door that should never have been opened.
