Lea's mind was pondering if she was only seeing things. She decided to look at the couple at the table by the restaurant they are approaching. As she scanned her silhouette, she was sure it was her friend but decided to call out her name. She decided and called on this familiar woman she saw with a happy smile plastered on her face.
"Jasmine?" A cheery Lea called out.
As she waved her hands at her from a far, she tugged the man with her while Alex tagged along. As they walked along the shoreline, Alex mind scanned the area and noticed Lea going to a restaurant near them. She followed them while she was curious who her best friend is calling at.
As Jasmine eyes darted from the man's face to her, her expression showed excitement while looking at Lea and the man she's with. She did not notice the woman behind Lea and the man. Alex caught up with them hurriedly while checking the steps she takes.
When they approached the stairs going to the restaurant's al fresco area, that's when Jasmine saw a very familiar figure with Lea and the man. She pretended that she doesn't know her but deep inside, she knew who she is in reality while that woman doesn't know who she is.
"Lea? What a surprise? It's nice seeing you here." As Jasmine's eyes stared at her friend, she did not notice the woman coming at Lea's back.
Jasmine's voice made people turn their heads.
The man she's with side glanced at them when he caught a familiar figure that made his mind blank. He absent mindedly turned to face them and his eyes was locked on that familiar figure. A silhouette that has been in his heart, mind and soul. His mind flooding images of her until he uttered under his breathe.
"Alex..."
As time drifted on his hind sight while memories of her flood through his mind. Her hair that glistened when the lights hit her, her eyes that sparkled whenever he looks at her, her innocent and angelic face that make you forget the cruel world and her aura that glows warmth whenever he sees her. It lasted a few second while his mind raced years of memories until he muttered her name under his breath.
"It's her..."
Alexander's mind went blank as his eyes stick on to her like glue.
"Oh Jasmine..." Lea's voice trailed.
His reverie was cut off when he heard Lea's voice.
"Yeah, sorry for disturbing you and your date, Jas. I was walking by the beach when my date here wants to introduce me to her sister." Lea's voice sincerely friendly when Jasmine's eyes darted from her to the man standing beside Lea.
"He led us here and told me his sister is here." She held his hand and gestured to show himself to Jasmine.
"Oh...My..." She muttered with eyes shining while her expression turned surprised when she saw who Lea is with.
"He is my date. His name is..." Lea's voice was soft when she saw Jasmine's excited expression.
"James!!" Jasmine's voice crackled like fireworks when she bursts into giggles.
Lea looked amused and asked, "Do you know him??"
Jasmine looked thrilled and looked at Lea, "Lea, He's my brother. I am so happy that it's you!!!!"
Lea was stunned.
Alexander was surprised.
Alex was confused.
James held Lea's hand and looked at her.
Alex realized the scene before her as she was awestruck. She felt happy for her friend and felt warmth filling her inside.
"I wanted to surprise my sister today that I will be going on a date with the woman I set eyes with for a long time." James looked lovingly at Lea while he confessed in front of Jasmine, Alex and Alexander.
Everyone was quiet and people beside them murmured ignoring the scene they are witnessing.
Lea's eyes locked on his as a blush crept on her face. Her eyes sparkled like the night sky while the breeze made her hair float in the air.
Alex was mesmerized while Jasmine's date was dead locked on her.
The summer breeze pass by them as the roaring waves crashing on the shores while the stars shine bright with the new moon rising that night.
All of a sudden, Jasmine noticed Alexander looking at a woman beside Lea. Her eyes were dreamy and her over all look was innocent making any man approach her swoon. Jasmine felt threatened by her and slowly held Alexander's hand.
Alexander's train of thought woke him up on that touch. He felt disgusted and annoyed as he jolted his hand out of Jasmine's reach.
The disdain on Jasmine's eyes grew as she stared at Alex with loathe.
As the stares of Jasmine caught Lea's attention, she looked at Alex's direction.
Lea shot James a meaningful look. James understood and smiled back at her. Lea turned to Alex and caught her arm while Alex shot her a shy look.
"Jasmine, this is Alex. She is my room mate and best friend from the city. We are actually childhood friends and we stick through thick and thin." Lea gleefully said.
"Well...I got her back and she got mine..." Alex shyly chimed in as both friends giggle.
Jasmine put up a fake smile. "Hi Alex."
James looked pleased. "Nice meeting you, Alex."
Alexander's ears heat up. The ecstasy building up in him as he starred at her figure as his body started to feel euphoria as he muster to speak.
"Hi..."
His voice was amicable while he coughed a little and drank a little water beside him to ease the feeling stirring up inside him.
Alex smiled at all of them as she kept her posture alluring and demurred.
Jasmine's eyes lit up when she noticed she haven't introduced Alexander yet. She looked at him and said, "Everybody, I want you to meet Alexander."
Everyone looked at Alexander while he was pulled back to reality while looking at Alex.
Their eyes met with familiarity crossing their faces. There was a glint of joy in Alexander's eyes when he met Alex's. His face showed a hint of bright pink across his face but it could not be noticed as he shift his attention to look at James and Lea.
He thought that the wine was giving him away to hide his feelings. To avert a sudden awkwardness as he waved to Lea. His eyes scanned the next person beside Lea, a familiar silhouette, as his face showed innocence, he waved at James.
When he turned to Alex, his eyes was locked at her for 10 seconds. His mind is screaming, "Don't panic. It's her. It really is her." His heart beating like a drum as his eardrums will likely burst out.
He indistinctively reached out his hand to reach out to her.
Jasmine's eyes went wide. Lea's face was at awe and James face was amused.
Jasmine's mind went blank when Lea called her out.
"Jas, are you still there? I have been calling you." Lea's face got concerned.
"Oh yeah, I'm just fine. Just got me reminiscing. That's all." Jasmine's face lit up but hid her sadness all of a sudden.
"Are you sure?" Lea asked her as she scanned her face with prying eyes.
"Yeah. Why would I be?" She beam at her.
"Alright then." She gave her a wink.
Jasmine sighed with relief.
"So, what were you dreaming about?" Lea probed on her.
She stared at her at disbelief.
Lea started giggling while Jasmine laughed with her. They stared at each other when they both smiled.
"So, are you going to tell me or what?" Lea serious voice rang into her ears.
Jasmine's expression turned friendly as she looked at Lea playfully.
"Maybe..." Jasmine answered her.
Lea could not contain her excitement.
Back Outside the Restaurant...
Alexander made everybody out on their wits.
He turned at Alex's direction and hugged Alex tightly and warmly while shadowing her from the pain she is seeing. His sudden gesture surprised Monique and Charles. Alex was bewildered. Her eyes was looking directly with a baffled expression when he bent down and scooped her up bridal style.
Charles witnessing this made him stir his emotions. His face showed a pensive look that make the sun hide into the clouds. Seeing Alex lifted by Alexander made his heart harden to a point where the temperature dropped cold despite the heat from the sun. It made his blood boil and his eyes pop out of anger. His fist curled hard like a stone when he noticed the girl beside him watching both of them with jealousy and heartache. Her eyes were sad yet it hides in her stoic face.
Monique was baffled at the scene in front of her. Her jealousy is creeping up inside her heart. As she stared at Alex and Alexander, she loathe more and her mind cannot comprehend what her life would have been if Alex did not exist. Her nails dug deep in her palms as she watch in reverie as if Charles were to do the same thing to her and as she watch in envy while the girl she loathes is enjoying her time while she sulks in despair.
Both couple are in deep thoughts while their eyes are glued on a blank paper as their thoughts are rendered speechless and empty.
The feeling of being lifted up by Alexander made her heart beat wildly. She shot him a pensive look but Alexander looked at her like a fragile doll that he cares and tends to. His whole aura radiating while the moment felt like serene to Alex yet it contradicts everything her heart is telling her. His face is close to her as if his lips touching hers when it went past her lips then it suddenly stops besides her ear. His lips parted ways until she felt his warm breath brushed past her skin making her hair at the back of her neck upright.
"Don't talk little one." Alexander whispers with his husky voice to her making her blush uncontrollably. She never dared to move a single muscle not even her eyes looked away from him. Her eyes never parted his while his was focused on his visions of her. He walked facing the serene view of the beach toward his motorcycle. He gently moved on the passenger seat and placed her carefully like a child with his hands on her waist and her arms on his shoulders. His hand moving to her waist, filling her curves as she stayed like a statue when she felt violated by him. Suddenly, she instinctively removed his hand on her waist but his grip on her was tight when his hands shifts and deflects her hand away. His swift movement caught her off guard when his face gets near to hers just an inch away. Her hair blew across her face while the breeze did not bother them at all. She could not fathom what has happened in front of her. Her eyes glued on Alexander's silhouette while her mind are busting with ideas, thoughts, theories and assumptions that she could not understand. All she knows is that Alexander carried her away like a baby on his arms and saddled her like on a horse but on his motorcycle. Looking eye to eye, she suddenly blinked multiple times thinking she was dreaming; pinching herself making sure everything is real when Alexander planted a playful smack on her lips despite the teasing from him. Her heart bewildered as her brain made her in disarray. Her eyes fluttered and stared in an abyss of darkness. She felt submerged into dark waters and she is desperately looking for light that could save her. It made her imagine things she would never think of.
"Him kissing her while she kissing him back? That will never happen. It should never happen. It will never happen" Her inner thoughts hunting her at this very moment. While Alex was still in a daze, Alexander turned to look at Charles and Monique for the last time. They were still in a daze when Alexander called out to them.
"We are going!! Enjoy your honeymoon, lovebirds!!" Alexander blurted out.
Alex's daze broke out and her eyes glared at Alexander.
Charles's vision clouded and changed from a point where they were last seen to where Alexander's voice was coming from. His jealousy making it way into his heart as the scene unfolded right in front of his eyes. Monique turned and waved back at them while she plastered a fake smile on her face.
Alexander turned around towards his motorcycle and seated on the driver's seat when Alex voice cracked behind him.
"What do you think are you doing??" She raised her voice while her eyes glared at him.
"What did you just do to me??!!" Alex suddenly blurted out.
"If you looked sad and hurt, I will do it again if I have to." Alexander shot her a serious look.
Alex felt she just bathe in cold water. Her body stiffened while her eyes glued indifferently at him. Alexander smirked at her while he brushed passed her and took the helmet behind her. He instinctively looked at her with care and signaled her that he will put the helmet on her. She looked at him defeated while she crossed her arms.
He loftily looked at her while sizing her up. She looked at him confused as her thoughts going wild.
