Chapter 76 - 76

"Here he is?" the officer stated, glaring at Sam, who only smiled back. Natal sighed as he sighed the papers. Cora was busy dealing with the thugs who were still trying to jump Sam. Apparently, he built a reputation with the Yazka some years back, like running through every group he could find for 6 damn years.

They had photos and videos of his ass back then." I forgot I died my hair, "Sam then stopped," someone there winked at him, and I liked how it made my hair look." wiggling his hand free of the cuffs. He scratched under his eyes, feeling the ink again.

Slipping his hand back into the cuff, he ignored the annoyed look the cop was giving. "Man, I was a real terror back then!" he had one of those Oni masks on. For no real reason; he just liked it. There was a good chance he just fucking stole it.

"Give it a rest!" Cora shouted, knee-bombing a man directly in the chest. " it's been serval decades!" grabbing another man, she threw him into a car, followed by several others, until the car looked like it had been in a car crash. Turning, she caught a man's fist, then a women's legs and an X's head butt! "HHAA!

With a roar, she threw all three of them in the air. Jumping, she kicked each one in the ribs, sending them flying back to the ground, where they bounced off the concrete.

Sam looked out the door as cops dragged off some of the knocked-out guys. "Man, I left an impression! But seriously, what's fueling this?" this couldn't just be revenge. "well, figure it out later," Natle handed over the forms before turning and rushing out of the building. Joining his love in the fight, he immediately grabbed someone in a headlock and threw them down.

Wacking serval people with his oversized writing brush with it, he quickly draws several runes and sends them flying around the battlefield. Some have an immediate effect. Trapping or knocking people out, others had delayed effects.

"we're back with lunch, Daniel walked through the battlefield, both of them protecting themselves as they walked into the building. where they were still processing Sam, "Oh, ginger and eel sushi." Sam smiled, taking a box for himself as his friend sat down next to them. [how legal was it for them to actually arrest you?], Tyron silently texted.

Sam made a so-so gesture, "Part of it's the fact I made such a big disturbance." the other part is protective custody." though it was completely unneeded, either way, it was a reason for them to get him off the street. Limited the chaos caused by the many people trying to get a piece of flesh from him.

"taking a few bits of sushi, he watched the Yazka get knocked out, eventually cops in riot gear. A lot of cops showed up with tears and knocked out gas. " shit," Caro shouted, rushing into the building and covering her mouth." Mana laced." laughed she did he best to clean herself up." well, that probably sent them off."

Sam increased his hearing to check himself. "Car!" Natale and Coral threw themself to the aide just before a car bashed through the building's glass wall." Sam stood with one arm, throwing his chair into the front window of the car.

The glass shattered, and Daniel threw a grenade before grabbing Tyrone. Holding him tight as the grenade blew against the car, slowing it for a moment. "knew this vacation wouldn't be boring." pulling the younger teen on his back, Daniel was quick to pull him and the receptionist receptions out of the combat zone.

Landing on the roof of the car next to this mother, Sam brought his hand down. Listening to the impact. "esh," straightening out his fingers, he called on a bit of demon energy over them. Slamming his hand through the roof, feeling around for a moment, "AH!" someone stabbed him in the hand.

Pushing through the pain, he grabbed the knife and the hand. He pulled them out through the hole just as Coral smashed through the window and threw herself into the car. Despite the situation, they still tried to fight her off.

It was futile, but they had the pair's respect." turning there, I watched Natale throwing around runes at the Yazkara, trying to come through the hole in the wall. Cora threw the criminal out of the car while Sam.

"Ugh!" widening his stance a little, Sam slowly lifted the car above his head." ahh, I forgot how hard this is." rearing his hands back, he stumbled for a moment. "parking violation!" the raven shouted as he threw the car with all the might his body possed.

"WOW!" Natale threw himself to the ground; the wind ruffled his designer clothing. Jumping up, he quickly created and threw runes into the underside of the car.

The moment the car hit the ground. The runes erupted. Cannibalizing the car, it burst into a thick cloud of gas. Many started coughing, and some straight out started fainting. "okay, that should be it," Sam mumbled, letting his vision and hearing grow as he observed the crowd." yeah, the ones who have resisted the gas are retreating screaming."

"honey? Caro asked," What was in that gas?" the man pointed to their raven child. "you have so many stories about being poisoned; my favorite is the one with the African shaman. Who cursed the rains on you."

"oh yeah, that hurt a lot!" did that mean he used the car to fuel a curse in the air." It was effective." he did that with runes. 'how long have you been planning that technique."

"since a bunch of dolls attacked our home." he had more tricks in mind, some fleshed out, some not. "All right, let's help with clean up and then get out of here, but they try and make us pay for it," Sam commented. They were rich.

Two hours later, they were on the streets searching for different things. The couple were searching for food. danile was just following, trying not to let his family cures lead home off. Tyrone was keeping hold of Daniel, in part so the older one didn't walk off. But also to keep his own anxiety at bay.

There were so many people going about, some of them looking & recognizing Sam from the news. There was also the number of yazka trying to tail them. Sam was glaring at them occasionally while looking down the streets, trying to see if the sights would awaken more memories. Like, what exactly all these people were mad about.

Instead, they found a ramen and mochi place; it was good ramen. It would be better if they weren't being watched; when Sam went to the bathroom, someone tried to jump him. There were several bangs before I heard someone being thrown out the window.

"for the damage!" he slammed stacks onto the counter before taking a seat and returning to his food. "what did I do? These people are relentless!"

"at least it's only Yuzakai. I just jinxed it."

Then they heard a boom of thunder; looking out the window, the group could see a hurricane starting to build right over the city. "is that Fujin and Rajin?" crawl brought her hands together; please don't be here for Sam."

"beast of three! One of demon, ghost, and witch! He who has traversed the globe! Eater of all things! Challenger of the Greek!" with each title that came from the divine beings, the further Carol sunk into her chair. "slather of a million monsters! Savors of millions! suriver of the-!"

"do not mention that island!" Sam shouted, voice reinforced by mana, shaking the building he was standing in. The two divine snapped at him. With a flash of lightning and a gust of wind, they were in the building. "oh, that smells nice." the lighting god commented.

"we'll get some food later, right now." they turned to Sam, who was a thought away from going full midnight hour." oh divine of lighting and wind, what can I do for you?" technically, he should have bowed in respect, everyone else was doing.

But he's faced a god in combat. Plus, he sensed they weren't the people who liked overly formal things. A lot of old beings acted like that, growing bored of the formalities. "the yokai under our watch have spoken about your return."

"Can I ask why such a thing is the concern of the divine?" the wind god, giving him a flat look," You beat up a lot of yokai. Led a hundred demon march and helped a few Gashadokuro make peace. You were both a blessing and a curse upon the land. You stole something from one of my temples."

"I'm not even surprised." Sam placed his face into his hands, cursing his past self. "I can probably get the items back." the divine shrugged," Oh, it was a cursed item, and you broke it. So I'm thankful for it."

"oh, he really was hunting cruse. Sorry, my memory is a mess." putting it lightly," could I ask if you know what the yakuza want from me?" the lighting being tilted his head looking up from the menu, he picked off the counter. " the Gashadokuro wanted the yakuza. So you brought the criminals out for them and also stole a couple blood-soaked and cursed weapons, setting them ablaze."

"All right, not apologizing for that, but they seem really focused on me for a few lost lives." the wind deity explained a lot of them had been heads, leaders, and high-ranking enforces. He essentially cut the hands off a hydra. Then, its arms, legs, and several vital organs. "it takes the underground years to recover from your actions."

"Okay, it's starting to make sense." it honestly sounded like something he would do, sighing as he turned to his parents. "do you want to see the Yokai lands?" he wasn't abandoning them. Also, he had a meeting later that day. The parents had a silent conversation before nodding towards him, "Sure. Supernatural lands are always interesting sights."

"you said the specialized camera wouldn't be needed." rolling her eyes with a smile. Sam turned back to the divine. One was rooting through their pockets to get some money. "if possible, I ask that you inform the yokai that I will make my way towards them after a meeting I must attend this afternoon."

"should be too much trouble," Raijin replied. Fuji pulled out a wind spirit from his pockets." she going to take care of it."

"what year is it?" the spirit asked, a distant look in their eyes. Fuji sighed, "Stop. No time for your pranks. This is a serious message." the distant look disappeared. Of my lord," then the spirit was gone like the wind.

"Now how, what bowl of ramen can I get?" the divine asked, business with Sam concluded. so the raven turned back to his own lunch of serval bowls of ramen stocking piling on energy. ' I really hope this meeting with the yokai doesn't lead to the fight.' from his memory, yokai were a pain to fight.

Some weren't that much more dangerous than average. Others were minor natural disasters. Sam knew his chances were pretty high, but it would not be easy. Seriously, he could get torn apart, which would hurt.

After finishing their lunch, the group went to a lot of tourist locations. then places Sam wandered off to. "you!" apparently, some people remembered him from so long ago. "give me back my money!" Sam flipped that guy off." why?" he asked himself.

Dogging a bazooka and knocking him out, they continued off to someplace else." baka neko!" he flipped the cat off, who took a familiar battle stance. "a student of feline martial arts, I see!"

"nope!" Natale wrapped his arms around his son and walked away before they could get into another fight. They end up taking a cab to the skyscraper that acted as the main headquarters of the business. "for a place started as an appliance business, these people made it work."

Sam snickered as he walked into the building. Looking around at the numerous employees. They looked quite happy with other employment, increasing his hearing. He listened to the world around him and moved toward the elevator.

The offices were over the lower half of the building, and the labs were at the top. Cause if something went wrong, it wouldn't stop anyone from escaping." that is a smart design." but he couldn't help but think about the problems that caused.

"so what do you think," the CEO asked as Sam took a seat. "it's not bad; your employees are happy to work here if bored. I've looked through what you sell, good services, and a number of good reviews. I'm impressed."

"that's good," the CEO smiled. "but I'm not going to sign of control of my shares." the smile fell, and he opened his mouth to protest. "I'm not going to mess with the inner workings of the company. You're doing good. I'm letting my shares stay for a few reasons. So the thing my friend built up doesn't fall. Franky, I just need money now and more over my long life." the CEO nodded. It wasn't abnormal for the long-living to have a passive income of some kind. Some wrote books. Made songs, there was a rather popular play coming to Japan in a month.

"so let's talk about the money I'm going to add." the CEO immediately sighed; that was a good thing he was going to contribute to this company, unlike some stories he heard about other long-lived. Those who were dead and rotting on every level expert physical. The one in front of him was active, "Well then, we have a long talk in front of them." he paged for a lawyer to come up and help them draft the papers necessary.

It didn't take that long; Sam didn't have any real demands. It was mostly formalities for someone who lived as long as Sam. Who knows what he'd be doing in 50 years. Another hundred. He might be dead; he might be dancing on the moon.

He made sure to leave his things to his friends and family and their descendants if something happened to him. If something happened to the people he cared about. who knew what the future holds? Sam didn't even know what his past held.
