Li the Cook shook his head, "No, he's probably still behind."
Their kitchen work was lighter in the afternoon. Once they finished cleaning up, they had little to do except prepare for the next morning. Compared to other workers who still had to pack up their tools after their shift, they had everything ready and were just waiting to leave.
Sometimes, if something came up, they could even slip away early.
Li the Cook was quite proud of his job.
