Because the taste was different from regular pickles, they were quite popular, with a refreshing flavor.
It was better than winter now, with more variety in vegetables, though in early April, the selection wasn't particularly abundant. Adding one more dish meant one more flavor, which was quite nice. Ming Mei especially liked the pickled radish, finding it very refreshing.
The spicy cabbage, in comparison, was less appealing.
"Mom, how do you make this? I never had this at my parents' home," Ming Mei asked curiously.
Zhao Guihua replied, "It's Korean style. It's not common around here. I heard about it from someone else and tried making it myself. Didn't expect it to turn out well."
Ming Mei: "I think it's really tasty. Could I ask how to make it, to teach my mom?"
