Relief crossed Jong Suk's face the moment he recognised Yeon Joo beneath the plain servant head covering, but it lasted barely long enough for her to notice before the fear he had carried from Zurich hardened into anger. He closed the distance between them in several quick steps and caught both of her upper arms, careful enough not to hurt her but firm enough to keep her from slipping past him with another explanation. His eyes moved over her face, checking for injury even while his jaw tightened. "Do you have any idea what happened after you disappeared?" Jong Suk asked in a low voice, glancing toward the far end of the corridor where two servants were passing with folded linens. "Your mother walked into your room and found it empty. Your phone was still there, your clothes were there, and nobody knew where you had gone. She called me in Zurich while I was preparing to operate because she thought something had happened to you again."
