Chapter 253 - Ace Versus Ethan Pt 2

"Totototototo DILE!" Totodile cried out as he danced happily in place, despite the serious Typhlosion that was currently glowering down at him.

"A Totodile? Its a good thing that Typhlosion and I have PLENTY of experience fighting those. Huh buddy!" Ethan remarked cockily, while Typhlosion snorted out a small flash of flames.

"I wouldn't doubt that. But I highly doubt any of those Totodile were like MY Totodile." I shot back at him, while Totodile thumped his chest as if to say 'that's right!'

"We'll see." Ethan said, before giving Lyra a look.

"You may begin!" She declared.

"Typhlosion, use Eruption!" Ethan immediately began.

"TYPHO!"

With a roar, Typhlosion slammed it's front paws down onto the ground in front of it to send a surge of fire type energy directly into the earth.

"MOVE TOTODILE!" I yelled to the water starter, who leapt to the side right as numerous pillars of fire shot up out of the ground around where he had been.

'Now Aqua Jet!' I mentally ordered him afterwards.

"DIIIIIIIILE!"

Totodile roared as he summoned a torrent of water around his entire body, before surging forward directly at Typhlosion exactly how Floatzel taught him.

"Flame Charge!"

"TYYY!"

Typhlosion roared as it charged forward while an inferno raged around it, meeting Totodile head-on in an explosion of hot steam.

"HOOOOOOT!" Lyra cried out as she jumped away from the cloud of hot moisture.

"TOOOOOOTOOOOOOOO!"

Totodile screamed as he jumped out of the steam with what looked like burns covering a decent portion of his body. While Typhlosion appeared no worse for the wear as it shook it's fur out.

"You ok?" I asked Totodile, as the burns looked and felt like they hurt, a LOT.

"Toto....DILE!" He declared while glaring at Typhlosion angrily.

"Typho pho, Typhlosion."

"..."

"TOTOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Totodile roared at Typhlosion from it's taunt, making the little water starter's aura flare before, surprisingly, his entire body began to glow.

"Nice~!" I whistled in approval as Totodile grew in size, almost doubling in height before the light died down.

"CROOOOOOOOOCO!" Snarled the newly evolved Croconaw, before he launched back at Typhlosion.

"Aqua Jet once more!" I ordered him.

"CROC!"

With far more water gathering around him than before, Croconaw surged forward like a tidal wave at Typhlosion.

"Flame Charge, once again!" Ethan commanded his starter, who also shot at Totodile while cloaking his entire body in flames yet again.

*KABOOM!*

There was an explosion of steam yet again as the two clashed, but unlike last time Croconaw wasn't completely overwhelmed by Typhlosion's flames.

"Impressive Ace. My Typhlosion has gone against even Silver's Feraligatr and come out on top."Ethan said as we watched our pokemon struggle, before Typhlosion gave a slight jerk of it's head and sent Croconaw flying backwards.

"If your pokemon was fully evolved, we would have been in trouble. But it's not, and now its time we finished this. Typhlosion, use Wild Charge!"

"TYPHO!"

Roaring in affirmation, Typhlosion launched itself at Croconaw while electricity crackled all over it's body.

"Jump up and dodge it!" I ordered him, and Croconaw did just that. But I could also tell he was near the end of his rope after having both of his attacks beaten, and being covered in burns from the first clash.

His movements had become slow, and he was obviously stuggling just to make that jump, but he did.

"Now Water Gun!"

"NAAAAAAAAW!"

Croconaw expelled a powerful torrent of water from his mouth as Typhlosion passed underneath him, drenching the fire type even as it kept going.

"TY!"

Typhlosion rolled after it missed Croconaw, realigning itself as it charged at him once again, only this time there was nowhere for Croconaw to go.

*KER-KRACK!*

I flinched from the sounds of the electric attack as it hit Croconaw, dealing the final blow as he fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

"Croconaw is unable to battle! Typhlosion and Ethan win this round!" Lyra declared as Typhlosion returned to Ethan's side, where it shook itself to get rid of the remaining water while also splashing it onto Ethan himself.

"Jackass." Ethan said, but he had a smile as he did so while patting Typhlosion's side affectionately.

""See! See! See!"" Declared Chansey and Ditto as they collected Croconaw this time.

"You did your best." I said while patting his belly affectionately when they passed me, and I was sure that he seemed somewhat content afterwards, despite still being unconscious.

I then flashed a look at Ethan as I reevaluated my strategy against him. A quick peek into his mind told me the two pokemon he planned to use next, each of which were just as strong, if not stronger than Typhlosion. I could NOT send out some of my weaker pokemon against them, not in good concsience at least.

"Two to one, with a tie. One more for me, and we win!" Ethan said as he held up his next pokeball.

"Yeah. And after seeing Typhlosion's performance, I think its time we got a little serious as well." I replied, holding up my own.

"GO-"

"YOU'RE UP-"

"TYRANTRUM!"

"GYARADOS!"

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

"TYRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT!"

In front of me appeared the massive king of the ancient world, who roared with kingly might in response to his opponent, a massive red Gyarados that appeared in the lake. Not only did this thing radiate some intense power, it was also just shy of being as big as an alpha as it glared down at Tyrantrum.

"The same one you used against Claire... Think you can control it now?" Ethan asked when he saw Tyrantrum, obviously recalling the way he had acted when he first evolved.

"Of course! He's had time to see the.....error of his way." I answered while directing a sly look at Tyrantrum, who pretended not to notice. I didn't blame him though, after all the times that my other pokemon beat him up whenever he tried to act out.

"Both sides ready?" Lyra asked, bringing us back to the battle. "Begin!"

"Gyarados, Hydro Pump!"

'Charge it with a Horn Drill.' I mentally comanded it, as Ethan's Gyarados fired off a Hydro Pump that rivaled Blastoise's Hydro Cannon in sheer power.

"Tyrant!"

Tyrantrum fearlessly charged right at the Hydro Pump as the horn-like crest on the top of his head began to spin, actually dissipating the power of the Hydro Pump as it sprayed in every other direction to soak the entire area and even carve out a few trenches.

"Dodge it!"

"Gya!"

Realizing what we were doing, Ethan had Gyarados avoid the Horn Drill as it deftly shifted it's serpentine body in the body, before immediately spinning around as Ethan followed up by ordering it to use Aqua Tail.

"Thunder Fang!" I countered once Tyrantrum's attack missed, prompting him to pivot as he faced the Aqua Tail as his powerful jaws crackled with electric energy.

"""!!!"""

I could feel surprise from quite a few of the spectators as Tyrantrum ignored the water coating Gyarados's tail, and chomped down onto it with his electric jaws.

"GYAAAAAAAAA!"

The Atrocious pokemon roared in pain, not just from it's tail being bitten, but from the electric current running through it's entire body as it took significant damage from it.

"Now pull it out of the water!"

"Grrr!"

Tyrantrum growled as he planted his taloned feet, and swung his head back while maintaining his hold on Gyarados's tail, pulling the massive pokemon from the lake and back onto land.

"""KYAAAA!"""

Lyra, and a few of the kids that followed us, screamed as they all quickly moved to avoid being crushed by Gyarados as it crashed into the treeline beside us.

"Get up!" Ethan urgently yelled to his pokemon, who rolled to the side and coiled to recover as Tyrantrum stalked closer.

"Now use Ancient Power." I told him.

"Tyyyy...." Tyrantrum growled, before stomping one of his feet on the ground to bring several jagged chunks of stone up into the sky, and then hurtling them right at Gyarados.

"Block them with Whirlpool!"

"GYAAA!"

Gyarados roared as it summoned a massive Whirlpool directly in front of it, successfuly drawing in the Ancient Power attack before any of the rocks could hit. And also successfully diverting it's attention as Tyrantrum charged right in for another attack.

"Giga Impact!" I cried, right before Tyrantrum slammed his body into Gyarados with all of his strength.

*CRASH!*

The duo went crashing through the forest as numerous trees snapped and shattered beneath their weight, and the force of Tyrantrum's attack. At the same time, all of the water from Whirlpool came crashing down as it flooded the area and soaked several of our shoes and pants as the water washed over us.

I didn't care though as I watched the collapsed duo closely to see the result of the attack, as Giga Impact temporarily rendered the user unable to move after using it, similarly to Hyper Beam, Blast Burn and the others.

Soon though one of them began to move as they slowly rose from the pile where they laid, rising to his feet triumphantly while his opponent lay still, even as he planted a clawed foot atop it's head.

"TYYYYYYYRAAAAAAAAAAAANT!"

Tyrantrum Roared his victory for all of us to hear, even making the kids cover their ears after the earlier incident with Loudred.

"Excellent." I told him as he finished Roaring, before slowly approaching me as he lowered his muzzle until it was close to my face.

"That was very well done." I praised him, reaching up to scratch his chin as I did so.

"Hrrrrrrrrrrrr..." Tyrantrum rumbled in pleasure as I scratched him, while Ethan recalled his Gyarados to it's pokeball. It was a little too big for Chansey and Ditto to carry, so he passed the ball over to one of them directly to bring back to Joy for treatment.

"Damn... Two wins each now." Ethan said as he turned towards me, pulling his final pokeball out as he did so.

"And this last one is for all the marbles." I replied while recalling Tyrantrum to his pokeball, and pulling out one specifically.

"I warn you Ace, this is my absolute strongest pokemon." Ethan told me, before tossing it out.

"You're up, Dragonite!"

"DROOOOOOGOOOOOOOON!"

Dragonite roared as it appeared over the lake, radiating pure draconic energy as it glanced over us with passing interest.

"Looks like I have to answer in kind, CHARIZARD!"

"CHAAAAAAAAAAAR!"

Charizard roared challengingly as he too flew out over the lake, already ready to square off against Dragonite.

"Hey Ace..." Ethan suddenly called out to me.

"Yeah?" I asked him, curious as to what he was up to as he adopted a weird look.

"I haven't been idle since the SS. Anne..." He said slowly, before pulling something out of his pocket.

"!!!"

"Where did you get that?!" Lyra demanded when she saw what Ethan had, while my own eyes widened in surprise.

"That's not important right this second... But this is! Dragonite, let's GOOOOOOO!" Ethan yelled while holding the pendant he had in his hand up into the air.

"DROOOOOOOOO!"

Dragonite roared again as well as it's entire body was encased in a multicolored sphere of light, which then shattered to reveal it's new form.

Now Dragonite had a pair of white feathered wings protruding from it's head, which easily dwarfed the wings on it's back in size, while it's tail was notably thicker and longer, and it had a shimmering jewel towards the end of it.

"So, Dragonite can Mega Evole as well..." I muttered quietly, before smirking as I raised the ring on my finger to my lips.

"Guess we'll respond in kind!" I cried, kissing my ring before holding it up into the air.

"Let's go Charizard!"

"CHAAAAAAAAR!"

Charizard roared once more as his body was encased in a sphere of light, before it shattered to reveal his own transformation as his white scales turned pitch black, and eerie blue flames flickered at the tip of his tail and on the sides of his mouth.

"This is the final round! BEGIN!"

"Flame Charge!"

"Dragon Rush!"

The two pokemon, one encased in draconic flames while the other in pure draconic energy, clashed with one another as they both attacked at the same time.

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

It looked like fireworks as the two pokemon clashed over and over again, neither willing back down in the face of the other.

""DRAGON CLAW!""

Ethan and I ordered at the same time before the two could clash again, and this time they locked claws as they clashed, turning the battle into a contest of strength.

"You won't lose against such a wimpy dragon! Drive it to the ground!" I ordered Charizard.

"Throw it into the lake!" Ethan yelled to his own dragon.

Like that'll happen.

As could be expected, it didn't matter how strong Dragonite inherently were against the training of my own Charizard.

The duo immediately descended to the ground at the edge of the lake, with Dragonite unable to compete with Charizard's physical strength as he threw it into one of the boulders lining the edge of the lake.

"Now use Fire Blast!"

At my command, Charizard unleashed a raging blue inferno onto the place where Dragonite landed, hot enough to boil part of the lake while also superheating the earth around the dragon type pokemon.

"Extreme Speed!"

Before I could even blink, a figure shot out of the inferno and slammed into Charizard, hitting him HARD to send him flying back up into the sky.

"Now Thunder!"

"DROGOOOOOOOOON!"

Dragonite roared as it started to change the weather itself, before there was a flash of light, followed almost immediately by the roar of Thunder.

*KABOOM!*

The girls and several of the kids dropped to the ground and screamed as the sky roared, while Charizard took the full force of the attack before he could recover from the earlier hit.

"Now Extreme Speed again!" Ethan declared, but he was getting cocky.

'Iron Tail...THERE' I mentally ordered Charizard right before Dragonite struck.

*GOOOOOOOOOONG!*

Charizard followed my direction to swing around, and slammed his metallic tail into Dragonite before the dragon type could hit him again. The result was Dragonite being sent flying like a baseball as it's own momentum was used against it.

"Combine Flame Charge and Thunder Punch! Chase it down!" I ordered him as the momentum turned in our favor, Charizard shooting across the sky like a meteor as he crackled with both flames and electricity.

"It's coming Dragonite!" Ethan tried to warn his pokemon, but it was too late.

*KER-CRASH!*

Though not as powerful as the earlier Thunder, there was a flash of light as Charizard's Thunder Punch connected with Dragonite, sending it flying directly down into the lake below.

"Now finish it! Draconic Blast Burn!"

"CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!"

Charizard summoned a mass of draconic flames to his mouth at my command, before unleashing them downwards right at the spot where Dragonite landed in the water below.

*KRSHHHHHHHHHHHH!*

The lake exploded into steam as the super intense flames hit the water, practically boiling it instantly with Dragonite inside.

"Dragonite!" Ethan called out worriedly, as we were unable to visibly confirm what had happened due to all of the thick steam.

"Noctowl, clear all of this steam!" Lyra commanded as she sent out one of her pokemon.

"Nooooooct!" The Noctowl trilled as it appeared, before it began to beat it's wings to create a current of air that cleared the steam away. And finally, the result of the battle was revealed.

"Dragonite is unable to battle! Charizard wins the round, which gives Ace three wins versus Ethan's two and a tie!" Lyra declared, as we all saw Dragonite floating unsonsciously in the lake, it's Mega Evolution undone with it's defeat.

"CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!"Charizard roared as he celebrated his win over his opponent.
