Chapter 29 - Lunch for Two

The older man got a riot out of this and was laughing. I could hear Tora chuckling as well, "Your fine, breathe" He said in a low tone.

I managed to get a few breathes in to calm myself, but that burning wasn't going to subside anytime soon. It was quickly followed by terrible nausea and dizziness. I think I'm a little buzzed from that.

The two men got back to talking, as I basically was fighting for my life in silence. Before long both of them stood up and shook hands smiles plastered on their faces. The other girl went and grabbed hold of her guy's arm, I could tell she wasn't steady on her feet, could be the giant spike heels she's in or maybe she is in the same boat I am here.

Tora was standing next to me before long, his hand extended out for me to grab. I grabbed hold of his arm and got up. I wasn't stable right now was clenching onto him trying not to fall. My left leg burned, the pulsing from between my legs, and the fresh nausea and dizziness from the alcohol. Plus through in that I am also in heels, this was not a combination for a stable person.

We left the room and got back on the elevator down.

Thank god we are leaving. I thought, wait a damn minute, am I actually thinking this is a good thing. I still need to get the hell out of here and away from this crazy guy. He stood beside me stoic and silent, despite my entire weight leaning against him.

The assistant guy from before was in the elevator with us but he had hit the 15th floor instead of ground. Which unfortunately meant we weren't done here. When the doors opened, it was a restaurant, completely empty. We were led through the empty tables out to the balcony and presented a table for two there.

What the fuck?!

The waiter pulled out a chair and gestured for me, I sat down, Tora sat across from me. The cool air from the nice day felt good, the view wasn't bad either. It was a city with huge buildings, but I don't recognize anything, and my head is pounding so hard now that I can't seem to focus my eyes to read any signs.

Food was placed down in front of us, a seafood tower on a cart beside the table within reach, small steaks, with sauce decorating the plate placed in front of each of us. A few vegetable sides in smaller separate plates were served around the table.

It all smelled so good and so nauseating at the same time.

The waiter presented a bottle of wine to Tora, he nodded, and a glass was poured for him. Before he could pour me one Tora spoke up "None for her." his eyes locked on his phone typing something.

I was served lemon water instead, which I happily chugged with one of the aspirin from the purse I was given. Relieve that hopefully the pain would subside soon, I glanced around the table unsure what to do.

Based off the limited information I have about this man, he doesn't seem like the type who would want someone to start eating before him. Plus the overwhelming smell of the rich food wasn't exactly appetizing in this moment. There was a small basket of bread in the corner that was about all that really caught my eye.

He stayed quite eyes locked on his phone still working on something, guess it must be a lot of work to be a criminal. Finally, after a few more minutes of silence, and me finishing 3 glasses of water. He slipped his phone into his jacket pocket and met my gaze.

"Go ahead, eat." He said cutting his steak.

I slowly munched on some of the bread sticks, trying not to throw up. Irritated by everything that was happening and had happened in the last few days and now he just sits here like nothing is wrong.

He grabbed my plate of steak and switched it with his, his was now cut small and had a few veggies on the plate.

I rolled my eyes at this odd action, if I was on a date I think I would have swooned but definitely not in this situation. "Eat it, I know you didn't eat last night and I'm betting you aren't feeling to good right now."

He said grinning, eating his way through his steak and a few sides.

I took a deep sigh "I'm not hungry." I retorted pushing the plate back.

"Okay, doing that will only hurt you. Not me." He said smiling.

Annoyingly he was right, but still, " It's too rich, I feel sick." I mumbled

He glanced at the plate before gesturing the waiter over, he said something in Russian to him. My plate was quickly taken away and a few moments later some kind of soup was brought. Small bits of vegetable and chicken in it, a white thicker base.

I looked at it confused before glancing up it him and then the waiter, "It is congee mam, very easy on the stomach, enjoy." He said before scurrying off.

I hesitantly took a few Spoonfuls, it was pretty good, and he was right, it really eased the nausea. Plus, the medicine was kicking in so the pain was subsiding.

"I don't get you." I blurted out looking at Tora, eating some clams off the tower.

He raised an eyebrow.

"What do you want from me?" I questioned

He chuckled, "Nothing, all you need to do is as I say."

I stared at him intensely, trying my best to read him.

He stayed silent and just continued on eating in peace.
