Maya ran through the front door of the hospital, rushing to find Charlie. Her hands harshly slammed down on the marble of the front desk where a young nurse sat, typing forcefully on the keyboard to her computer. "What room is Charlie Wilson in?" Maya asked her words rushing out.
The nurse gave Maya a once over before continuing to type on her computer. "I asked you a question." Maya spat out, growing extremely annoyed.
The nurse rudely rolled her eyes, looking up at Maya. "Are you family?" She asked before reaching over to grab a clipboard that sat a few inches away from her computer.
Maya wasn't sure how to answer the question, but before she could process it the words left her lips, "I'm his girlfriend." Maya shocked herself when she responded.
The nurse shook her head before going back on her computer. Maya began to grow angry with the nurse. Maya opened her mouth to say something again but was cut off by a familiar voice, "She with me." She turned around and looked at the person who just spoke. Maya smiled at her mother, following her into the back where Charlie was. Maya quickly turned around and flipped the nurse off.
Once they reached the front of the door Maya wrapped her small arms around her mother's waist, "Thanks mom, for saving him." Isabella hugged her daughter back, patting her back softly. Maya gently pulled away from her mother, smiling thankfully at her.
Isabella smiled back at her daughter, "I know how much he means to you. Plus he's like a son to me, I hope you didn't think that I would let him go that easily."
Maya shook her head a smiled at her mother. Slowly opening the door Maya saw Charlie sitting up, watching some show on the television. Charlie turned his head at the sound of the door opening. Maya slowly moved towards Charlie hand reaching out for him. He grabbed her hand and helped her reach him faster. Charlie wrapped his arms around Maya's waist burying his head into her chest as her arms went around his shoulders, her chin resting on top of his head. Maya smiled softly to herself as she moved her head so that her cheek was flat against the top of Charlie's head. Charlie sighed before pulling Maya away from him, keeping his hands on her hips.
"I've tried using everyone's phone to call you, but you haven't answered, I was worried about you." Charlie said frowning. His eyes wander all over her face, drinking in her features.
Maya frowned and looked away. "I'm sorry Charlie, after finding out that you were dead, I couldn't bring myself to face anyone."
Charlie shook his head before standing up. "That doesn't matter." He said as he ran his hand over Maya's cheek. His hands running down the length of her arms before finally gripping her hips tightly, pulling her impossibly closer to him. "The other thing that matters is that you're here now." He whispered brushing his lips against Maya's. Maya fluttered her eyes shut, wrapping her arms around Charlie's neck. "With me." He said before fulling placing his lips on hers. Maya responded to the kiss immediately. Charlie's arms snaked fully around Maya's waist, deepening the kiss. Their lips moved slowly against each others, enjoying each others company. Maya's hands found their way into Charlie's hair, playing the strands on the nape of his neck. Charlie pulled away, resting his forehead against Maya's.
Maya looked up, smiling at Charlie. "I love you, Charlie."
Charlie smirked, tilting his head to the side. "I know." He winked at her.
Maya smile dropped as she pushed Charlie's arms from around her waist. "Dickhead," Maya said walking towards the door. Charlie laughed before walking after Maya, grabbing her waist he pulled her back placing his chin on her shoulder, kissing her cheek. "I love you, too, Maya. Now come, let's watch a movie."
Charlie and Maya have spent the rest of their day watching horror movies which meant Maya was clinging to Charlie, hiding her face in his chest. All Charlie could do was laugh and smile at her sincerely.
Maya looked back at the clock, checking the time. "Where the time go." Maya slid off of the hospital bed standing up straight. "Well, I guess that I should get going, I'll come back again tomorrow."
Charlie whined before sitting at the end of the bed. "Why? Couldn't you just stay the night with me?" He poked out his bottom lip in a pout hoping that it would change her mind.
Maya glared at him, "Cut the pouty crap out your almost twenty." Releasing a small laugh, Maya shook her head.
"But I want you to stay with me! Please? Maya? Don't make me beg."
Maya placed her lips over Charlie's for a brief moment before sighing. "You're annoying. I hope you are aware of that."
Slipping her shoes and sweater off, Maya laid down in the bed. Charlie moved his body besides Maya's, placing the blanket over the two of them. Maya snuggles closer to Charlie as he wrapped his arms tightly around her waist.
"You know," Charlie started making Maya look up at him. "After all these years I would have never thought that you would have actually been mine." Charlie was staring at the wall behind Maya, a small frown played on his lips.
Maya chuckled at him. "And you know, neither did I." Charlie looked down at Maya in disbelief. Maya smiled at his reaction. "But, I am happy that things played out the way did."
Charlie smiled brightly at her. "You mean me nearly dying for you?" He teased. Maya slapped his chest making him burst into a fit of laughter. "Either way, so am I."
"Good night, Charlie." Maya mumbled as she hid her face deeper into his chest.
Charlie sighed in contentment as he rested his chin on top of her head. "Goodnight, my love."
