The Crow moved side to side, left and right, floating above the ground like a shadow without weight. Then it spoke again.
"If you are able to win against me, you will get one prize."
Skraal grinned, his expression sharpened with interest.
"What kind of a prize is it?"
The Crow tilted its head, its black eyes shimmering faintly, and then let out a strange, unsettling giggle.
"It is knowledge," it said.
"Knowledge about the Origins. You will learn something so vital, so deeply important, that everything you thought you knew will feel… wrong."
Skraal's grin faded, replaced by a cautious frown.
"I will give you a hint," the Crow added, voice now echoing slightly.
"There is almost no end to learning any type of Origin. The percentage we sense… is not everything."
Those words hit Skraal like a blade to the chest. His breath caught in his throat for a second.
What does that mean? he thought.
The system showed percentages.
He believed in them.
