'This is unbelievable! How is this even possible?!' She exclaimed in shock.
"This is all fake. It's not real. I'm dead and this is all just me trying to comfort myself in hell....but this all looks so familiar." To test if she was dreaming she gave herself a pinch.
The pain she felt was so intense she let out a loud scream and sat on the floor. So painful!!
It was really painful...
"Yan Yan Why did you scream?" A mature beautiful woman who looked to be slightly above forty rushed in.
"Yan Yan what's wrong?" The beautiful woman saw Yu Yan sitting dumbly on the floor. She quickly walked over to her.
Yu Yan swiftly turned her head as she heard that familiar affectionate voice. That voice....Mum. It was her mother.
Tears flooded her eyes as she watched the middle aged woman fawn over her.
"Yan Yan. Why aren't you saying anything. Did something scare you? Don't worry, it's okay. Mother's with you" Yu Mian kept babying Yu Yan like a kid.
Yu Mian was a little worried about her daughter. Her daughter was a very outgoing child who did whatever she wanted to whoever she wanted.
She was rarely ever afraid of anything. she took after her mother, a lioness. But today her little lioness was as pale as a blank sheet. Even if others couldn't see it, Yu Mian could see her daughter was scared. But why?
While Yu Mian was busy pondering onto her next course of action she suddenly felt a pair of slender soft hands pull her into a hug.
"Mum.....mum..." Yu Yan held her mother tightly as she wailed woefully.
Though Yu Mian was skeptical about Yu Yan's behavior, she kept patting her head and cooing to her.
"It's okay dear. Don't cry anymore. Mother's here, nothing will ever hurt you."
Yu Yan cried even harder after hearing those words. Her mother hadn't changed, she was still the same loving mum.
Many people called her mother a lioness and sometimes a shrew. But she knew her mother wasn't like that. Yelling and provocation was just a way her mother used to push away her adversaries.
Although her mother was cruel and harsh to others, when it came to her family, she would show her softer side. Her mother never gave up on her like others, even when she ruined the life of those around her, her mother never shouted at her. She would only plead with her to let go of him.
Her mother always forgave all her mistakes, so she took her mother for granted.
It was only when she was the lowest point in her life, did she ever miss her mother, but then it was too late. Seeing again was a blessing from heaven.
Yu Yan was snapped back to reality by Yu Mian calling her name repeatedly.
" Yu Yan! Yu Yan! " Yu Mian called.
"Yeah mum?" Yu Yan answered calmly.
"Has anyone bullied you" She asked in a low tone.
Hearing those words brought a smile to Yu Yan's face. If this was hell, she never wanted to go to heaven.....
"No mum... no one bullied me, I just had a really bad dream but now it's okay. Everything's fine now."
Yu Mian felt her daughter was acting strange but decided to keep quiet since she saw Yu Yan was no longer crying.
The duo then lay on the bed silently. Yu Mian was caressing Yu Yan's hair till eventually, Yu Yan closed her eyes and slept soundly.
