As she leaned in, the python caught a scent—a sweet, floral fragrance that made his heart ache. It was the scent of summer Lilies, the exact same scent his previous master used to carry.
"Baishe," Bai Xifeng said suddenly.
The python jolted. That was his secret name—the one given to him by the woman he had loved and served long ago.
"That shall be your name from now on," she declared. "Because your white scales are the most exquisite things I've ever seen."
