Chapter 61 - Chapter 61: Bloody Bodies In the Courtyard

Chiyan screamed loudly when she saw the bloody body lying in front of Bai Chunhua's room. She stumbled backwards in shock and fell onto her back.

Bai Chunhua heard the scream and frowned. She had just woken up and was still feeling irritated. She got out of bed and walked toward the door. Without thinking much, she pulled it open.

"Why are you screaming so early in the morning?" Bai Chunhua scolded Chiyan. She had not yet seen the bloody body. Then she lowered her gaze.

"Ahhhhh!!!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Her legs gave out, and she fell onto her back. She quickly crawled backwards, trying to distance herself from the bloody corpse lying in front of her door.

"What is this?" Bai Chunhua asked after calming down slightly, though her voice was still trembling.

"I don't know, Young Miss. I came to wake you up and saw this scene." Chiyan explained nervously.

Bai Chunhua forced herself to look at the person's face. The moment she saw it clearly, she suddenly remembered who he was.

He was someone Bai Chunhua had hired to steal money from Bai Xifeng. She remembered him clearly because of his distinct feature, a large scar that stretched across his face. It was impossible to forget. Now, her plan was completely ruined.

This person had died at her place. Who killed him and placed his body here? Could it be that Bai Xifeng killed him? Impossible! Bai Xifeng was trash who could not cultivate. There was no way she could have done something like this.

Bai Chunhua had hired fairly strong cultivators for this task. Did Bai Xifeng have someone powerful protecting her? Did Bai Xifeng's father secretly leave someone by her side? That also seemed impossible. If she truly had someone protecting her, she would not have suffered so much all these years.

"Clean up this mess right away." Bai Chunhua ordered coldly.

Chiyan quickly called the other maids to handle the body. The maids were shocked to see a corpse lying in front of their Young Miss's room, but they did not dare to say anything. They silently began cleaning up the scene.

...

At Old Madam Bai's courtyard, screams could also be heard.

Old Maid Dong Yi was shocked when she saw a dead body lying in front of the room. Not long after that, another scream echoed through the courtyard. This time, it came from Old Madam Bai herself.

"What is this?" Old Madam Bai shouted angrily.

"A dead body, Madam." Old Maid Dong Yi replied carefully.

"I know that. I am not blind. I am asking why there is a dead body in front of my room!" Old Madam Bai demanded, her voice filled with anger.

"I don't know, Madam." Old Maid Dong Yi answered truthfully.

"Call the guards. Investigate this matter immediately." Old Madam Bai ordered sternly.

"Yes, Madam." Old Maid Dong Yi nodded.

"Before that, clean this up." Old Madam Bai added with a look of disgust.

"Yes, Madam." Old Maid Dong Yi responded obediently.

Old Maid Dong Yi then began calling for people to come and clean up the mess.
