Aunt May cared deeply for Jasmine Yale, her heart aching a little for this thin, petite girl. She had a lovely smile, with two shallow dimples at the corners of her lips.
"How long have you and Sylvan Cheney known each other?" Aunt May asked curiously.
"We've known each other for many years," Jasmine said, her tone a little shy. Especially when talking about Sylvan Cheney, her face always carried a touch of sweetness.
"Many years, huh? I didn't even know that. I've known Sylvan for many years too, after all."
"We weren't this close in the past," Jasmine said, a little embarrassed.
"That miscarriage back then... was it Sylvan's child?" Aunt May asked directly, her eyes fixed on Jasmine.
Jasmine nodded and didn't deny it.
"I always thought he was different from other men. I didn't expect he could do something so despicable. I'm an obstetrician, I've seen all kinds of pregnant women and irresponsible men. I didn't expect Sylvan to be one of them."
