"I know his health wasn't great last year; he was hospitalized a few times at our facility," Aunt May said with a sigh.
Jasmine Yale nodded. She was aware of it too.
Though she had been slow to realize it, only learning about it after spending a year in Cakago.
"Aunt May." Just then, Sylvan Cheney pushed the door open and walked in, narrowing his eyes slightly. "What's the conversation about? Aunt May didn't bully Jasmine, did she?"
"I wouldn't bully Jasmine even if I bullied you." Aunt May snorted. "Jasmine is so much more obedient than you. I keep saying daughters are the best. Sylvan, you should have a daughter one day—she'd surely be beautiful and well-behaved."
"Beautiful for sure, but whether she'd be well-behaved is hard to say." Sylvan walked up behind Jasmine Yale and wrapped his arms around her shoulders.
Jasmine, in front of strangers, appeared sweet and docile, very obedient.
But at home? Not so much.
