A maid was waiting at the door, helping him remove his suit jacket and handing him slippers.
The villa's living room was luxurious, brightly lit, with a lavish color scheme typical of the European style; even the crystal chandeliers were crafted extravagantly with crushed diamonds, and the furniture glimmered with bright luster.
"Evan, you're back." Erin Janus stood at the staircase, her belly round, smiling warmly as she looked down at him.
Sylvan frowned, "You're not asleep yet?"
"I just couldn't sleep today. I heard some noise downstairs and knew you were back. Ah, you came back too late." Erin stepped down, her fair face carrying a gentle smile, her mixed blue eyes fixed on Sylvan.
"You should go to bed earlier. I need to go to the study to deal with some contracts."
"I just happen to be unable to sleep too." Erin playfully glanced at him, then waved at the maids to leave.
