Chapter 437 - Rushed to the hospital

"Did, did you just...." Sam's voice trailed off as he looked up from the broken laptop, the customized one that she refused to say who had given her, to Chen.

Yu Chen looked up at Sam when his voice trailed off, wondering what was wrong. She understood what he wanted to say and turned away with a shrug. Sam was still in shock as he held the broken laptop in his hands when he heard the distant sirens of an ambulance. He pushed his current thoughts away as the sirens became more clear. Soon the ambulance was there and Chen had called the medics into the alley, who were closely followed by the police. The police clearly wanted to get their statements regarding whathad happened after seeing the conduction of Chen and the others along with the three unconscious men in the alleyway, but they stopped upon seeing Xiao Hai who was heavily injured. Xiao Hai and the three unconscious men were cramped into the back of the ambulance, and Chen sat in the front with Sam, whose face was puffing up due to the beating now.

All of them were taken to the closest hospital and were instantly checked all over for injuries. Yu Chen, being the least hurt, was released as soon as she was checked for internal injuries and it was found that she had none.

Yu Chen walked out of the emergency room rubbing a hand over her temple. Everyone had been seen to by the doctors, and none of them had any life threatening injuries. Though the doctor seeing to the mugger who Chen had knocked out with her laptop had said that he was showing signs of a concussion, but Yu Chen couldn't care less about him. He and his buddies could develop amnesia for all she cared. All that mattered was that both Xiao Hai and Sam were safe. Xiao Hai had lost blood and might have to remain in the hospital for a few days, but luckily his wounds were not very deep and he was out of danger. And Sam, well he would be out of the hospital by tomorrow morning. The doctor had said that they wanted to keep him overnight just to make sure that no internal injuries had been sustained, and he could be discharged if all came out well. He had been taken by a nurse to get his wounds cleaned and bandaged.

Yu Chen's face broke out into a tired smile as she spotted a very worried looking Si Xia harrassing a nurse about Chen's whereabouts. She had called him from the ambulance and given him the address of the hospital and asked him to come. She had only had time to tell him that she was fine and not to worry before they had reached the hospital and the docrhad asked her to cut the call so that he could examine her.

Therefore, as per Chen's instructions, Xia had rushed to the hospital, and contrary to her insistance, he had worried himself half to madness.

Xia rushed over as soon as he spotted her and began looking at her from all sides, worrying more than a lioness worries after a whole day apart from her cub. Chen sighed, "I would request you to go through these doors into the emergency room since you consider yourself more qualified than the doctors in there."
