Chapter 8 - Unconscious

~~~~
Su LingTian had been right. She had gone without a jacket yesterday and ended up getting sick. Well maybe it wasn't just the no jacket. (Flashback to the whole rain scene •_•). She shook the thought from her head, grabbing a jacket and leaving for school.
She tried her best to pay attention but her sneeze had transitioned into a serious headache. The voices around her greatly annoyed her and she laid her head on her desk.
"Ms. Li, Rather then sleeping you should be paying attention." The teacher suddenly called out. She was a tall woman in her 40s with thick rimmed glasses. Her voice was loud and obnoxious .
Everyone in class turned to stare at her and started to snicker. Li Hua looked up but couldn't care less. Her face had began to feel hot and her head hurt terribly.
Seeing her dismissive attitude the teacher became even more upset. "Well since you're so nonchalant, could you read for us the passage on page 200?"
Li Hua looked at the book. It was an English paragraph that retold the story of Romeo and Juliet.
She took a moment to exam the text. To others it seemed like she was struggling.
"It's alright if you're havi-"
"Romeo looked upon this fair lady and his thoughts of Lady Rosaline had vanished. To this lady whom name he had not known his heart began to only beat for her."
She spoke it in almost perfect English. Everyone went silent and the teachers face became white.
She had been told that Li Hua wasn't the smartest person and that she'd have to take more consideration in her teaching towards her. However, most of the students in this class couldn't speak with such fluency she just showed.
"Very well. As I was saying this is one of Shakespeare's most recognized works...." Changing the subject.
Class passed and it was time for lunch. She didn't want to go to the garden as she was sure that 'he' would be there. She didn't want to go to the common area either. She wandered the halls for a bit.
As she walked she heard a ring in her ear. Her head was pounding and she felt like she would explode. She leaned against the wall and tried to calm down.
~~~

Su LingTian stared at the doors to he garden. He hadn't talked to Li Hua since yesterday. He didn't know how he was going to approach her.

"Here goes nothing."

He opened the door and looked around but to his surprise she wasn't there. Maybe she was just taking longer to come. He walked to the bench and sat down.

15 minutes had passed and a feeling began to arise in his chest. Something wasn't right. Without further thought he rushed out of the garden.

She wasn't in her classroom or the lunch room. He went to the music room but she wasn't there either. He was about to give up when he heard a noise. There was a groaning sound coming from the hall over.

He turned the corner to find Li Hua collapsed on the floor.

It was like his heart had stopped. He ran over to her and brushed his hand against her forehead. 'She's burning up.'

"Li Hua." He tried calling her name.

"...."

"Li Hua!l

"...."

Seeing no response he gently picked her up and ran towards the nurses office. As he passed a hallway he was unaware of the audience he attracted. Rather the person.

"What?" Li Yan whispered. Had she seen that right? Su LingTian was carrying.....Li Hua?!

Quietly she followed them to the nurses office.

Inside the nurse had laid Li Hua on a bed. A wet cloth had been placed across her forehead. Su LingTian looked at her unconscious. The nurse had told him that she had come down with a mild fever. It would be best for her to lay down for a bit and to cool off.

"I told you. I told you to be more careful."

Li Hua had been moving around making it obvious she was uncomfortable. Seeing this he clenched his hand.

"Why are you so....." he wanted to curse at her but he couldn't. He grabbed her hand and lightly traced the back of it with his thumb.

"Li Hua..." he whispered

"I'm sorry."

He looked up to see that she had awoken. He quickly let go of her hand. Feeling him let go, she felt sad.

"The nurse called your parents. You need some medicine as you have a high fever."

"Oh ok." Hearing her parents had been called her mood lowered even more.

Seeing her nonchalant reaction, he became upset.

"This wouldn't have happened if you just listened to what I said. You're lucky I found you, who knows what could've happened?" He huffed.

Seeing his expression, she lightly laughed.

"I'm fine. Why does it matter?"

"Because I care about you!" He yelled.
