Chapter 35 - What does Mrs. Su need to steal for?!

If she was being honest she didn't want him to be involved at all. She told the two woman to leave her alone unless they had proof but they insisted.

The clerk and the woman stood there still. The woman didn't quite recognize him but she knew that something was off. The way he carried himself gave off an overbearing aura.

Looking at the clerk besides her, she knew her guess was correct. The clerk stood there awestruck. Her mouth starting to hang open.

"Mr...Mr. Su?" She mumbled.

Hearing this, the woman racked through her mind. Who in this city went by the name Su? It didn't take long however for it to click.

Standing in front of her was Su LingTian. The CEO of Su Corp and the eldest son of the Su Family. The lady whose name was Ming Li felt as if her mind was going to explode.

She was wealthy but only because her family came across great luck a few years back. Her status couldn't even be compared to his. She'd heard stories about him but she never saw him in person. Seeing him in front of her now she understood the commotion. This man was truly gifted by God.

In the midst of her admiration, she suddenly thought of something. Why was he here? She turned to look at Li Hua. No way they knew each other?!

She would've thought they were strangers if it wasn't for the smug look Li Hua gave her earlier.

Li Hua noticed her stare and felt a little uncomfortable. She unconsciously took a step back only to feel something hard behind her. Su LingTian has walked behind her and looked down at her.

"What's wrong? What happened?"

Li Hua blinked a few times before giving a quick summary.

Hearing the retelling the two woman began to panic. They didn't know the relationship between the two of them but they did know that if he wanted, Su LingTian could turn both of their lives into hell.

Hearing what Li Hua was telling him, his face grew darker. Her steal? The wife of Su LingTian had to steal? The idea was preposterous!

The sales clerk was the first to break the silence.

"Sir, it was all a misunderstanding! The woman beside me told me that she had stolen some items. I was only doing my job!" She wasted no time clearing her name and throwing Ming Li under the bus.

Ming Li's eyes widened when she realized what was happening. Hastily she tried to explain.

"I was only looking out for the store! I've seen many people steal and do all sorts of bad things. I truly wasn't trying to offend anyone. You know how it is."

At the end she tried to relate to him. Surely he would understand where she was coming from.

When they finally finished, Su LingTian turned to look at Li Hua.

"What does Mrs. Su need that I can't buy her?" He took his arm and wrapped it around her waist pulling her into him.

The sudden actions caught Li Hua by surprise. She thought they agreed to make their relationship private. She was about to say something when she noticed the look in his eyes. As if telling her to go with it. She inwardly sighed, this was what she signed up for.

Knowing what she had to do she leaned even more into him. Pouting her lips she said in a wronged tone,

"Mrs. Su doesn't need to steal a thing." Turning to the Ming Li she continued, "I repeatedly told them I hadn't stolen anything but they refused to believe me. Even when they had no proof."

Ming Li felt shivers go down her spine. This woman was Mrs. Su? The wife of Su LingTian?! She never heard of him getting married but seeing the display of PDA she couldn't deny it.

She turned to find her fiancé for help but the idiot had ran away! Ming Li felt her face heat up. This was so embarrassing. She was about to plead when the manager of the store came.

She thought she had been saved but she felt her heart sink even more the next second. The manager approached the clerk and asked what happened. Hearing the story, she quickly apologized on behalf of her employee. Saying that she was only doing her job.

There was no excuse for Ming Li?!?

Ever since she became rich, people had been sucking up to her and looking out for her. It was only now when she understood the saying, "The fish swims freely, unaware of the shark following close behind."

Finishing the apology the manager hurriedly rushed the employee away from the situation. Leaving Ming Li by herself.

Su LingTian looked at Ming Li for a few minutes before speaking again.

"I recognize you. You're the young miss of the Ming family? I've spoken with your father a few times to discuss a business deal. However, I never knew his daughter was such a wreck." His brows furrowed

Her eyes widened. Business deal? Her father? She knew she screwed up now. Frantically looking for a way out she looked at Li Hua.

"Ma'am I'm sorry! I'm truly sorry! It was all just a misunderstanding. You must see where I'm coming from. Right?"

Li Hua found the situation terribly amusing. Just a few minutes ago this woman was acting all high and mighty but now she was begging at her feet. However, even like this she didn't want to drag this on any farther.

"It's ok. I understand." She softly said, still in Su LingTian's arms.

She looked up at him and continued. "It was all just a misunderstanding. Everything is fine now." She gently smiled.

Seeing her cute face, Su LingTian felt his anger subside. He knew she was only acting but seeing her like this made his heart soft.

"Okay. I'll let this go this once."

Hearing that the lady felt like she was truly blessed.

"Thank you Mrs. Su. I'll truly evaluate my behavior and learn from this. I swear." She proclaimed. Seeing the situation had finally died, she gathered her things and left.

'Where is that stupid Fiancé of mine?!' She silently cursed to herself.

Su LingTian looked at Li Hua, who was still in his grasp. He leaned down and whispered in her ear. "Mr. Su will always be there for Mrs. Su."

Hearing this, Li Hua's eyes grew wide and her ears felt hot from the heat of of his breath. Realizing the lack of distance between the two of them, she pulled away from him and announced she was going to go buy the necklace before hurriedly running off.

As he watched her leave he pulled out his phone. Dialing his assistants number he said calmly.

"I want all the information on Ming Li by tomorrow."

Hearing this Assistant Jiang felt like he was about to collapse. How could he ask for something so big and want the results in less then 24 hrs. Especially calmly! He knew it was ultimately none of his business and if he wanted to start on the research he'd have to begin now.

When Li Hua had finished buying the necklace she found Su LingTian waiting outside on a bench. She noticed the bags beside him and was curious. Had he disappeared earlier to buy something?

Seeing Li Hua approach he smiled and stood up.

"Are you ready?"

"Yeah."

As they walked out the mall, he silently took the bag she was carrying into his other hand. In its place, he grabbed her hand.

Realizing what happened Li Hua tightened her grip on his hand.

In the car, the two sat in silence once again. Except this time the air felt light. Li Hua was the first to break the silence.

"Thank you for today."

Su LingTian whose eyes were still on the road replied.

"I really didn't do anything. There's no doubt you wouldn't have solved it yourself."

Hearing this Li Hua felt a tinge of happiness. He really believed in her that much?

"Thank you again." She shyly said.

No one else spoke until they got home.

Later on when after taking a shower Li Hua sat at her mirror blow drying her hair. When there was knock on her door. Expecting An Biao, she turned around ready to curse her out however to her surprise it was Su LingTian.

Seeing her expression, he asked.

"Was I interrupting something?"

"No! Not at all." She hurriedly said as she continued to blow dry her hair.

"Ok. I came here because I wanted to show you something."

Reaching in his pocket he pulled out a little box. Opening it, there was a beautiful necklace with matching earrings.

"On our way into the store I saw these in another shop and wanted to get them."

She was shocked. The pair was indeed very beautiful. The necklace itself was a dark black color but had white diamonds embedded throughout it. Almost resembling the night sky.

"It's gorgeous."

Hearing her approval he continued.

"Earlier when you went into the store I noticed another store nearby and decided to look at some of their products. When I saw this I thought of you."

"Oh."

He thought of her? This was a gift for her?

He walked behind her and gently lifted her hair off her neck. Placing the necklace on her.

Feeling the coolness on her skin, she shivered however looking in the mirror. She nearly gasped.

Against her skin the necklace really shone. While she admiring it, Su LingTian bent down to whisper in her ear.

"Do you like it?"

She turned to him. "I do! I really like it." She said while smiling.

By this time, it had become night. The room wasn't bright as the lights were very dim. The only light coming from the balcony and her vanity.

However, her pale skin seemed to glow under the moonlight. Staring at her, her dark eyes were so deep he felt like he would get lost in them. Her skin was still flushed from her previous shower and her hair was still wet.

Something about her felt so close yet also so far. Was it the way she was looking at him? Why did he feel so captivated.

Subconsciously he felt himself leaning in towards her.

Li Hua realized what was happening however, she found herself unable to move.

When he was only a few inches from her face. He suddenly whispered. "Hua..." As if asking for permission.

She didn't know what came over her. Her mind was screaming "No!" Yet she replied back.

"Will I have to be the one to make the move again."

"No." He replied. He quickly leaned in and kissed her.
