Carelessly , Melanie threw herself into the lion's den , at that moment , only one thought crossed her mind and it was to escape and run for her life , but before she could react , she suddenly felt an intense pain in her chest , she slowly lowered her head and at her surprise , she found a colorless hand crossing her body from the back . Disregarding the pain , she quickly took Ame and turned around to cut in half the mass of fog behind her .
As soon as the blade touched the humanoid form , it disappeared into thin air ,the next second Melanie felt her pain decreasing a little , that's what made her confirm the fact that she successfully killed that ghost and absorbed it soul .
It was quite easy to kill but what troubled her is its ability to appear behind your back unnoticed and to cause great damage into your soul.
Melanie had no time to think further on this matter ,she quickly lifted Ame to greet the new ghosts that just appeared around her .

It was bad ! really bad ! Several ghosts gathered all around her , with different levels some even higher than her own . At top of that her soul was injured , she can't fight them all at once, she must escape .
Melanie launched a big attack at the ghost in front of her using her Mastery skill "Wind's Claw" , a big and sharp wave of air resulting by the quick gesture of her hand and the sharpness of Ame cut down several ghosts, it was really effective ,that a thin path was cleared just in front of her , not missing her only chance , Melanie rushed toward it, and with Ame , she forced a path for her to escape from this place , but she couldn't protect herself from those sneaky attacks in the back and her soul got even more injured , although the unbearable pain threatened her to faint at any time , that didn't stop her , she refused to die here , to die carelessly a miserable death as in her previous life . With her full speed , Melanie didn't stop and continued slaughtering those sneaky ghosts until , she was able to leave their territory .
She returned at her location , as soon as she arrived she sat down on the ground leaning her back on one of the tombstone . For the first time in this world ,She felt exhausted . She hurriedly checked her status .

Although , it was a life and death fight , she still managed to level up , it wasn't that bad , but she also severally injured her soul that made her Hp decrease considerably.
Normally , if it was like in games with some rest , her Hp will increase again, and she will recover from her tiredness , but as for her damaged soul she need to hunt and absorb some souls .
Melanie quietly sitting on the ground , started to recall all what happened from the first time she opened her eyes in this world until that misadventure with those ghosts . Trying to figure out all her mistakes .
Then she made some conclusions ;
First , any carelessness in this world will lead her to her death ,
Second, increasing only two or three of her stats is a stupid and risky act , if her INT and SEN were higher , wouldn't she be able to detect the ghosts surrounding her ? Or if her defenses were better , wouldn't she be able to block some of those sneaky attacks ? or if she added more points in Vitality , maybe she wouldn't end so severely injured ? Each stat is important , that why all of them must be increased ,
Third , the system is not an ally or an enemy it will not warn her or help her in dangerous situations , it's just a source of information providing her with the most basic Intel about this world.
Fourth, the lack of knowledge is a fatal blow , this world is a mystery for Melanie ,she tried to ask the system about the continents , kingdoms, races ,.. But there were no reply ,it only gives information when she asks about something she just encountered like the spiritual river but for others thing it doesn't respond . It's troublesome! In a cemetery , there is no one to talk to , and no book to read , that why the only solution is to become stronger and leave this gloomy place which will lead us to the fifth conclusion , in this world, only the strongest survive and if she wants a peaceful life she must become much stronger , stronger than anyone in this world .
Melanie rested some hours , waiting for her Hp to increase before starting her ascension in the merciless path of becoming the strongest .
