When she sat on the bed, her back was ramrod straight, and her slender neck looked lovely.
As Shen Cheng heard a noise and looked up, she saw Shi Yu and put her book aside.
Shi Yu walked to the side of the bed and sat down, asking her, "Are you used to it yet?"
Shen Cheng nodded, "Used to it."
She paused for a moment before continuing, "Why not chat for a bit longer? Haven't you not seen each other for quite some time? Surely there's a lot to talk about downstai..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Shi Yu reached out, wrapped his arms around her waist, and chided softly, "Taking liberties."
Shen Cheng didn't understand what was happening, "What?"
Shi Yu pulled her into his broad embrace, his chin nestled in the crook of her shoulder: "Family members need accompanying, a wife needs pampering."
Shen Cheng curved her lips into a smile, tilting her head to bestow a kiss upon his lips, a gesture of unexpected gentleness that she hadn't premeditated.
