Ignoring Lin Yanqin, Ji Anning turned around and, with heavy steps, walked out of the front door and down the stairs.

Chicheng lifted his foot to follow behind her, his eyes narrowed in suspicion as he stared at her retreating figure, "Ji Anning?"

"Uncle, stop following me. I need some peace," Anning said without facing Chicheng, then she walked to the side, leaned against a Roman column, slowly crouched down, and hugged her knees, "I'll wait for Fenfen here."

She didn't want to be at the Ji Family's, didn't want to enter the Ji Family's door; she was not one of the Ji Family.

She wasn't.

Anning's gaze was fixed on the high courtyard wall and the towering iron gate. Now, more than ever, she wanted to break free from this place.

She wished to have no connection to it at all.

She longed to meet her beloved Chicheng as a stranger.

The cool breeze, coming in waves, messed her long hair, her nose and eyes were red, unclear if it was caused by the wind or her emotions.
