As Ji Anning neared the hotel, she took out her phone and sent a message to Ji Chicheng, telling him she had arrived.
In the past, when she sent him playful messages, she would always add a term of endearment at the beginning. Now, she omitted it, with those two words being taboo, not wanting to touch them.
Ji Chicheng replied with a single character: 'Okay.'
Seeing this one character, Ji Anning recalled the sound of his voice by her ear in days gone by. He was sparing with words, but often one word from him would make one feel as if basking in the spring breeze.
Thinking so, she reached out to open the window. The cold wind blew in, brushing across her face, cool and without a hint of the imagined feeling.
She tilted her head to the side, and in no time, her unpowdered face was blown to a bright red.
