His hand slowly lifted and covered Ling Chuxia's. Despite sitting and looking up at her, his gaze still conveyed an oppressive heaviness.
He intently stared at her pale face and began to speak, word by word, "Once your fever subsides, I will naturally leave. But until it does, I will not depart."
As soon as he finished speaking, Che tightened his grip on Ling Chuxia's hand and abruptly pulled it away. Then, he stood up, placed his hands on her shoulders, and firmly pushed her back down onto the bed.
Ling Chuxia's eyes were red, and her body struggled ceaselessly. Che, however, showed no impatience. His dark eyes lowered, fixated on her face, his voice deep. "If you truly do not wish to see me, what you should do now is cooperate, not foolishly struggle!"
Ling Chuxia could never have imagined that Che could still utter such words nonchalantly. Every time he appeared, he only brought her pain and suffering. Was she expected to greet him with a smile?
