Chapter 248 - Ch. 247: The Human Polygraph

Once upon a time, when the ethics of my healing ability had weighed more on my conscious, I had wished for the ability to tell truth from lie. 

Liars, I'm currently surrounded by them, young and old. But being a human lie detector would come with more drawbacks than benefits, I am realizing in real time.

For one, recognizing that someone is telling you a lie doesn't not immediately reveal the truth, unless I asked a binary question. Secondly, the problem with being able to sift out honesty from a pile of deceit is that the "truth" is a nuanced boogeyman. Some people convince themselves to believe lies with their whole heart, turning them into truths. Others may doubt a truth enough to turn it into a lie.
