Chapter 13 - Ice skating

Ever since Kian kissed me, I never saw him again. Well, to be more precise, every time I feel like I would encounter him, then I would try to avoid him as much as possible. I don't think my heart is mentally prepared to see him again.

Today, I'm planning on hanging out with Leone to my business. "The Village" was the name of my ice rink, and I waited at the front for him, "Ah, you're here. Greetings, Sir Leone," I extended my skirt and bow like how I learned during etiquette class.

"Lady Jeannette, thank you for accepting my invitation. By the way, do you know how to ice skate?" He questioned me as we welcomed ourselves inside.

The first part was to change into the clothes appropriate for ice skating. My business provided them as well as the changing room. Since modern outfit would seem too weird, I made sure the outfit matched the era. Then, I had professionals put on the shoes for the nobles.

Not to mention, the professionals working in my business were handsome commoners that Gideon hired for me. In order for nobles to like this place more, I needed good-looking people. Besides, I pay them a little and they would be satisfied. Seems like commoners are not picky with the price, or perhaps they're just too poor to even try to request for more money. Either way, it doesn't matter.

"Sir Leone, do you know how to ice skate?" I asked him as I casually stride in the ice as if I was professional. Truthfully, I was a professional in my previous life.

"I-I have tried it.... But I'm not very good at it," he struggled to move, afraid of falling down. This scene is so nostalgic, as if I'm back at my real world. Ah, I'm glad I made this business.

"Here, hold my hand. I'll teach you how to improve," I tell him, holding his hand to aid him to ice skate. People were astonished at the fact that I was skating backwards. At the same time, I heard a gossip that shocked me.

"Isn't that the prince's cousin? Is he and that lady dating?"

"Oh! It's Sir Leone! Who is that lady with him?"

All kinds of murmurs spread around as I quickly let go of his hand, causing him to slip away until he hit the wall, "Why did you let go of me Lady Jeannette?" His voice trembled while asking me that question with an expressionless face. I can tell he's trying his best to conceal his emotions, but you can't fool me.

At least not on the ice rink.

"I believe it's a little inappropriate for us to be holding hands when we're not lovers. Have you noticed the others speaking about us?" I questioned him with an uncomfortable smile.

"Does it bother you? I apologize. Will you at least stay by my side as I try to practice a little more? It's been forever since I last skated..."

"Yes, of course!"

It may have been a tough time with the rumors circulating in the ice rink, but thanks to Kian's sudden arrival mid-air, all the attention was focused on him. Or at least that's what was supposed to happen until he came wearing a customized skate shoe while snaking his arm around my waist.

Now, all of the attention were on US.

"Why are you always doing this in public!?" I whisper-yelled at him as he smiled, "I thought I made myself clear, but it seems like you're quite fond with Sir Leone," he says, glaring at Leone who returned the same stare.

Oh god.

"Lady Jeannette, are you and Kian dating?" All of a sudden, Leone was able to ice skate without a sign of struggle. Did he know how to skate all along or did he suddenly learn all of it? Either way... What should I do in this situation!? Everyone is always staring whenever Kian is around! Not to mention, Leone is actually quite popular with the women!

"No," I replied

"Yes," Kian replied.

"Kian! What are you saying? Everyone is going to misunderstand your words. Seriously, who's feeding you?" I asked him while pouting. At the same time, Leone was laughing with his hand covering his mouth. What's so funny?

Having two hot guys near me is stressing enough, so what's up with these two? Why are they always fighting anyway?

Sigh~

"Kian, I have something important to discuss with Leone. That's why I accepted his invitation," I tell Kian calmly while patting his head. His face was so close that we could accidentally kiss again, but right now, I wanted to tell Leone the truth about my identity.

"Let's all go to my place, shall we?" I decided to settle with a decision that would satisfy them both, so I led them back to my place while also vaguely revealing my identity.

When I arrived in front of my house, a group of maids welcomed our presence. Compared to when I arrive, they seem to be doing their job properly. Is it because I have guest today?

Well, it doesn't really matter.

"Hey isn't this building similar to Earth...?" Leone was astonished at the sigh of my house while Kian gawk at its exterior design. Yeah, for those who lives here, I guess houses like this would be weird to them, "This is a nice place. I've never seen such designs before."

Or not. I guess contemporary houses are like able after all.

"Who lives here?" I was asked by the both of them. Their eyes were giving me the look of curiosity, wanting to know information about the house,

"Oh uh my servants are the ones who live here since I don't really stay here anyway. At least not until I'm twenty-one. Gideon manages everything for me. I also have another person, but she's busy handling affairs in the neighboring town."

After all, my businesses did spread all over the world. Nobles franchised my ideas, and before I knew it, I'm a goddamn billionaire.

"Amazing... We came from the same world yet you managed to do all this... but could you possibly be the reason why the story of this world is changing?"

"Yeah uh about that... On the day of Kian and Margaret's encounter, I killed the monsters rather than Kian...."

"YOU WHAT?! Why did you do that? Do you have some kind of crush with one of the love candidates?"

"What? No! It's because Kian didn't show up that day, so I had to protect Margaret myself," I looked at Kian who sat next to me in silence. He's persistent on sticking close to me so I ended up allowing him to stick to me like a glue. It's a little cute though.

"Leone, you should know why," Kian smiled. I don't know what he meant, but it seems like Leone immediately understood him, "You guys are so weird," I commented before taking a sip of the apple juice that the maids had served.

Everything about the house was based off my life on earth. Since my house was hidden somewhere in the forest, it's not easy to locate by other members, especially when I casted a magic barrier around it.

"Come to think of it, what's your real name?"

"It's Rose. I used my nickname as my alias for my business and books,"

"Oh that makes sense. My real name is Kyle, nice to-" as expected, before he could even shake hands with me, Kian held my hand.

Goodness, it's like he's forbidding me to be touched anyone. What's up with him?

"Rose, haven't you realized that you reincarnated into a side character who was killed off because of her looks? I mean, look at you, I feel like I'm talking to a goddess!"

"I'm aware of that, but what are you trying to say?"

"Sigh... Rose, it means that you should be more aware of yourself and how people think about you,"

"But I am thinking about what others think about me?"

I tilted my head in confusion while Leone gave me a heavy sigh. Since we couldn't be on the same page, we ended up just having dinner at my place.

The dinner usually served on Earth.
