Chapter 202: What the Moon Awoke

Haji's POV
Pak moved like a held breath given legs—a blur of pure ghost-wolf instinct sprinting dead silent through a forest that had gone violently, impossibly loud.
Above us, the sky was already bleeding. The Purple Moon had fully formed, bleeding its initial, volatile mana into the atmosphere, and the wilderness was tearing itself apart in response.
The trees themselves were glowing now. It wasn't the gentle, ambient pulse of a stable mana node; this was an angry, hunting surge.
Violet multi-colored veins of raw energy crawled up the bark and split the root lines, throwing jagged, twisting shadows in every direction at once.
Off to my left, the canopy formed from tree leaves and branches shook. A low, guttural roar rippled through the underbrush like a physical wave, vibrating right through the soles of my stirrups.
