Chen Xiangtai didn't take a car but walked home, carrying an umbrella for almost two hours. When she reached the entrance of her residential area, her phone rang. Absent-mindedly, she answered without checking the caller ID and languidly uttered, "Hello."
"Xiangtai."
It was Ms. Tan.
"Uh-huh." Chen Xiangtai was annoyed and wanted to hang up.
"When are you free? Call Xinglan out, and let's have a meal together."
Upon hearing Lu Xinglan's name, she didn't hang up, "He's not familiar with you, why should he dine with you?"
"You, child! We'll all be family soon, how can you still talk like that?"
Family?
Ms. Tan was being nonsensical, spouting nonsense, and extremely annoying.
Chen Xiangtai wanted to hang up.
"I won't return to Hong City right now; I'm staying at your aunt's for the next few days. Whatever you want to eat, I'll cook it tomorrow and bring it over."
"No need." Chen Xiangtai sniffled, feeling cold, "I'm going to sleep."
She hung up the phone.
