Kat was panicking, along with Lily. Neither of them knew how to heal such a serious wound and Lily was already using her shadows to try and apply some sort of torniquet technique to at least keep the blood loss problem down. The real issue was the fact that Appoline wasn't able to breath at the moment. Even if Lily was managing to stop Hedera from bleeding out, the blood could still fall back inside Appoline's body effectively drowning her.
Lily focused on the problem. Trying to carefully coat the inside of Appoline's throat with shadows to try and keep that from happening but it was tough. Simply sending her shadows into someone's throat was dangerous. Sending too much was just as liable to choke someone as sending too little and letting the blood in. Lily had been trying to make her fine control better… but that was for far less serious issues. Even just apply a bit too much pressure to the edges of the wound might be deadly at this point.
