Chapter 1 - Prologue

I opened my heavy eyes and looked around. It felt familiar to me. Where is this? No, I knew this room.

Here is my bedroom, full of fluffy things. There are many doll bears everywhere. Every corner is filled with cute dolls.

I stared at the ceiling. It felt like a dream, but it was real. At least the pain was real. It was not a dream, but I had been reincarnated this time.

I could feel my wet cheeks. I remembered the past life that I didn't want to remember at all.

All the painful things were too much for a normal girl like me to handle.

"Big Sister."

A pair of twins came to my room and opened the door.

They are my brother and sister. Alex is the oldest, and Alecia is the youngest. They are four years younger than me.

I gave my best smile to them.

"Sister, are you okay?"

Alecia softly spoke to me with her gentle voice. Alecia is a timid girl, and she is afraid of new people. She also doesn't like crowded places.

"Sister, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Alex felt troubled seeing his sister's speechless response.

Alex and Alecia don't look similar. Alex got our mother's blue hair and eyes. Alecia got our father's dark hair and purple eyes.

"Sister."

They called me together.

"I am fine, don't worry."

They looked relieved at the same time.

"Don't bother your sister."

A beautiful lady came and interrupted our conversation.

"We didn't bother sister at all."

Alex showed his disapproval.

"Okay, I knew."

She is our mother, Giovina Emerald.

"Let's let your sister rest."

A handsome man arrived and marched toward my bed.

He is my father. He looked cold-hearted, but he loves his family so much. He is Gerald Emerald, the head of the Emerald Dukedom.

My father turned his gaze to my mother, and she led my siblings outside.

I didn't feel pleased with this situation. I had a bad feeling.

"Shellia, what do you feel?"

He stared at me, full of concern.

"I am fine, Father."

I gave him my best smile ever.

"I know this is not appropriate to tell you right away."

He looked uncertain about telling me this matter.

"You can tell me."

"The Emperor asked for marriage."

This news shook me the most, and my eyes grew dim and full of sorrow.

So, I had been reincarnated a year before our wedding ceremony? It was impossible. I couldn't change anything at all.

"Shellia?"

Father looked at me with concern.

"I am fine, Father."

"You can object to this marriage, Shellia."

"He also gave you an ultimatum."

"I will become his Empress, but I am not his nominal wife?"

"I know it is unfair to you."

My heart throbbed so much.

I must control my feelings.

My father knew that I had fallen in love with the Emperor, but the Emperor had given me this condition to marry him.

"It is okay, Father."

I smiled sweetly. My father looked relieved, but he still looked sad in my eyes. He walked away after telling me about this matter.

I used to think that love could grow each time we spent our time together. This happened to my parents, but it didn't include me.

Our fate ended in a tragic end. I still remember his crying face at the end of my life.

You abandoned me alone, so why were you crying for me? I didn't need your pity.

I will become your Empress once again, but you will never have my heart.
