Chapter 6 - The Mistress

He was supposed to come at midnight. Today he arrived not only an hour early but with friends. Her two weeks in town seems to be cut short tonight. Five clients in one night.

~ Quite impossible to go unnoticed after this show. She said to herself. The five men waited in the dark alley she had told them about the other day. She wore a long dark coat that covered most of her features. A light rain started as she turned the corner into the alleyway. The men waited for her right were she had ordered. Her horns stuck out from the hood. Her tail swung around the nearest man while she placed herself in the middle. The first man fell without anyone even noticing. Quiet and forgotten. Perfect. The second man screamed. That's where the plan started to fall apart. He fell with a knife in his chest. Not her prefered way of killing but the screams pissed her off. She sent a magical blast so fierce that it tore the third man apart as she held the fourth against the wall. Her patron needed the souls of these mortals but the game was her own device. A type of pleasure she couldn't get anywhere else. Not anymore. The man infront of her burst into flames. That's the way I like 'em. She thought to herself. Now to track down the last man. She turned around only to get a piece of wood slammed into her face. He raised something that looked like a massive rock above her head and she smiled as she grabbed his leg and set him aflame aswell. The sweet taste of victory arrived as it always did. Normally it would take minutes to get a guy and turn him into ashes. Sometimes weeks if the right prey wasn't avaliable right away. This time it had been a week's worth. All of them wealthy merchants. The kind that cheated and betrayed business partners and normal folk alike. She felt a hand on her shoulder. Her mistress was early today. Probably eager to thank her for the sacrificed men. Mud covered her face as a boot pressed her face further into the ground.

~ Silly girl. You think you can come into my town and do whatever you feel like. I should end your existence here and now. I might. The voice started mumbling to itself in the dark. It was almost like a conversation was going on. One she couldn't hear or understand. The boot was raised and she flew up shooting fire around her. Her opponent had moved away and could be heard laughing as it moved further away in multiple directions. A message was written in the mud. "See you later" The sound of the local guard was getting ever closer. Pushing away the anger that was swelling up inside her, she moved between houses and into a diffrent alleyway where she found a homeless tiefling. This young man felt the full wrath of a powerful warlock this night. She made a mental note to find the voice who dared to stand against her and claim that it was a superior. Three days later the guards had found plenty of corpses and a man strung up on a wall next to a message that said "Your minions are gone. Face me."

~ Do you truly think they will take the bait? She asked the beautiful woman on the bed.

~Oh Aries, I love you. The man underneath her moaned. She gave him a kiss and he fell both still and silent. She got out of bed slowly while the question hanged on in the air. After throwing a robe over her naked body she answered while walking towards the balcony.

~ Yes. Thelrueas is a rather moronic demon. He won't stand for such brazen insult. They'll find you within the day. If Thel is with his protégé you just call my name and i'll deal with him.

The market was busy as usual. Children stealing and pestering their parents about this and that. The young handsome man had followed her out of a merchant's tent full of dresses and into a butcher's store. He hair was long, his clothing fit for a king. Two highelf women at his side was a fine addition to what was almost the perfect disguise. The face of gave it all away however. A deeprooted hatred burned in his eyes and there was a scar that made it questionable how anyone could swoon over him. No, had his facial features and attitude been diffrent then surely this man would had been following her just to make her his next conquest. The noblemen of this land were all the same. After fame and glory on the field but absolute beasts at home. The thought made her sick to the bone. She casually stepped out into the crowd and dissapered. Her features were now those of a young female human. Long blonde hair, brown eyes, a small build. In other words nothing like her real self. This little trick worked like a charm. The man came rushing out, looking around like a madman and cursed to himself before heading towards the richer part of town. She bought a few apples and a red cape before following the scent they left behind. The road from the market to the wealthy estates took about fifteen minutes through a maze of housing and shops. Keep Jou'Tin was one of the larger keeps in the city. It had It's own walls and guards. Few men and women were rich enough to afford such luxuries. She passed the keep and handed the two guards walking by a few apples as a thanks for keeping the city safe. While the guards were busy sharing the latest news around the city and the empire she scanned the battlements. The guards of the keep seemed impervious to any kind of seduction or blackmail. On top of that their equipment were far superior to that of the city guard. It would be nigh impossible to enter by force. She hugged the guards leaving a small rock in both the guards pockets so that she could find them later. It was always good to have a mark on guards and potential victims. She waved the guards off before moving towards one of the hideouts in the vicinity.
