The dining hall echoed with the clatter of cutlery. The servants seemed to be quite jittery today. But who could blame them after what had happened in the manor yesterday? Those who arranged the plates and served the dishes were hasty, and those who were attending a few steps behind them were hushing tales of what they believed to be the truth behind the demon sighting the night before.
Martha was standing in the midst of it all, shouting commands to young girls and boys dressed in dull whites and grey aprons, who clearly would vanish into thin air, given the opportunity.
