MingYu stirred as the sunlight poured into their room, highlighting the dust particles dancing in the air. ZhiYi was already up and fully clothed, playing with AhXin on his lap as he sat by the bed.
MingYu yawned, relishing in the relaxing moment teetering between being asleep and fully awake. He blinked lazily at ZhiYi and smiled.
"Good morning." His voice sounded like a frog's croak, but he didn't care. He was just happy first thing he saw waking up were his favourite people in the world.
"More like good noon. The sun has been up for a while now," ZhiYi said. He reached over to brush some longer strands of hair away from MingYu's eyes.
MingYu nodded, yawning again as he stretched his body like a cat. Something felt a little off, MingYu thought as he propped himself up on one arm, frowning at ZhiYi. But before he could ask the man what was it that he had forgotten, the blaring trumpet sound from the street below woke him up like a vat of icy water. The banquet!
