MingYu gnashed his teeth at Wu TianLan's words but said nothing. He flicked his wrist and lines carved into the ground before their feet, forming yet another incantation to try and mend their souls together.
Wu TianLan had taught him how to manipulate this vast emptiness with just his will power, but even then, he could only make things appear out of thin air or carve lines across the dirt. There was no way for him to will power himself out of this void. Wu TianLan had tried too, but to no avail, and MingYu was secretly happy of his shortcomings.
Since the two of them were two separate entities currently, if Wu TianLan was the one to wake up, he would take over the body of ShiBai while MingYu might be left behind in the void to rot away in this timeless prison. He couldn't take that risk. Wu TianLan was just a youth, his impulses and arrogance still too uncontrolled. Once he got out, he would forget about this fossil of a soul behind.
