Someone ran out and returned with a solid jade block the size of a wagon wheel.
Cattaleya flicked it lightly.
The jade block shot through three walls before someone in the distance shouted, "It hit the courtyard statue!"
Everyone in the hall froze.
Then the Patriarch broke into a hearty laugh. "Wonderful! That statue was old anyway. This is a memorable day."
Daoist Chu whispered, "I feel bad for your sculptors."
The Patriarch laughed harder. "Let them earn their keep. Repairs are part of their training."
Lin Mu watched all of this with amusement. The Dongxu Clan was far more relaxed and lively than he had imagined. For a clan with so much wealth and authority, they felt oddly warm.
