Chapter 10 - Scar the Undead pt 10

"You got captured and now you're requesting an audience with the king? You never seize to surprise me Scar." A knight said leaning against the bars of the cell that Scar was currently in. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He looked to be in his twenties but wore dignified clothes and a blue emblem which made it seem like he had a lot of authority in the kingdom.

"Why would you think I would get captured otherwise?" She asked him with a smile.

"Who knows what goes in through your head." He said with a sigh.

"Don't joke around I just need to talk to the king about a certain matter."

"What are you going to do? Will you finally take over as Queen?" He asked casually, however, Scar's face instantly went pale by those words.

"Y-you still haven't told anyone, right?" She asked with uncertainty.

"Relax princess. I may be a guard for the king but the last thing I want is to have any more bloodshed because my tongue slipped." He sighed.

"Then you know that I have to speak to this guy no matter what." Scar said clinging to the bars.

"Hey, you know I can't betray the king and that seeing you is the last thing he would want."

"Really? Because I remember a certain someone putting up wanted posters for my capture-"

"-Or death. I can't hold your hand every time you come into town, you have to be more careful." He said with disappointed eyes. "I'll let you go but-...be careful." He said then unlocked the prison setting her free. "You have 20 seconds before I alert someone that you've gone missing."

"Thank you," Scar stepped out of the cage and gave him a quick glance. "Donny." She gave a slight smile then ran off.

"I thought I told you not to call me that again." He muttered under his breath but a small grin crept onto his face. Scar ran avoiding every guard which crossed her path. She hid behind walls whenever she saw a guard and ran up dozens of narrow staircases. She knew where she was going. And knew the most efficient way to get there without attracting attention. Soon she made it to the big doors that separated her and the person who changed her life. She took a deep breath and took hold of the golden doorknobs. Opening the doors she stepped in with confidence, striding over towards the thrown she saw an old man sitting on his own. He had grey hair, pale brown eyes but a big demeanour. His crown sat heavily on his head, however, he did not seem surprised to see Scar.

"Scar the undead... I was expecting you." He said with a low voice beaming down to her. Scar stared at him with an unwavering gaze.

"We need to talk." She said walking closer to him.

"You do not tell me what I do and don't do. You are a bandit, a common thief, a murderer. I don't take orders from the likes of you." He said then signalled from either side of him, as a result, a group of soldiers came marching in ready to attack.

"You were waiting for me." She said looking back at him.

"Let's just say I had a hunch." The king said, his mere presence overwhelming.

"So... now what?" She asked staring at the guards then back him.

"Let's make a deal. I know I can't kill you, however, I do know you can feel pain." He said then gestured for something to be brought. Immediately a cage trapping Rebel and Mel came in. Scar eyes widened, her composure now unsteady.

"Scar!" Rebel immediately jumped to his feet and started gnawing away at the metal hoping to break free.

"What do you want?" Scar asked with a threatening voice towards the king.

"I just need you to go on a little trip," The king said then motioned for a soldier to walk towards Scar. This soldier held a map of some sorts. "Take this map, follow it. You'll find an important item that I need."

"So I'm your errand boy now?" She asked confused. But before the king could answer there was a loud crash at the entryway, everyone turned to find someone with bloodlust in his eyes and blood dripping from his sword. "Slain?" Scar was perplexed.

"How dare you interrupt your king. You will pay for this- guards!" The king shouted and the guards immediately took action by charging at him. One by one the guards were sliced through and it was only a matter of time before the king was next. The king saw this outcome and gestured for one more person to come in. It was a person with a cloak covering their face who didn't say a word. "Do it." He muttered and as soon as he did the mysterious being raised their arm and Slain was stopped in his tracks.

"What's going on!?" He shouted in frustration. He couldn't go any further, his arms couldn't move, just his head.

"Are you alright?!" Scar asked in a panic.

"I'm fine. It's that crazy cloaked freak doing this." He said staring up at them.

"Don't bother trying to break free, without me commanding it you can never escape." The king said with a satisfied smile.

"You're a coward!" Slain yelled.

"No, I'm smart. Tell me, boy, did you think that coming here on your own was a brave thing to do? In my book that's foolish." The king said with threatening eyes. "Scar the undead, you do this or you will never see your pet or friend again." He turned his attention back to her.

Scar hesitated, biting down on her lip.

"Do we have a deal?" He said impatiently.

"On one condition, Slain comes with me." Scar said pointing at him.

"Are you crazy?" Slain said in shock. The king boomed in laughter before giving his answer.

"Do what you want." The king said without hesitation.

"I'm glad to hear it," she said then dragged Slain out of the room with a determined gaze clutching the map close to her.

"Hey, old man! What did you make her get?" Rebel asked.

The king looked ahead at the direction Scar left with an ominous smile on his face. "Her death."
