The events proceeded as normal. As per usual Last Lights entered the vault, and Travis looked towards his hand to see the ring slowly manifest.
"You have to take the most valuable thing when you win a duel.", Averoth tutted, "It's the only way to gain their ire, but also make them second guess challenging you again."
"I thought it was just you being greedy.", Travis pointed out.
"Do I look like the kind-?!", Averoth seemed offended but took a moment to reflect, "Well, not for material possessions. I just do whatever is interesting."
"How envious."
"What? You do the same thing! Just, you're a bit more material greedy than I am. Out of everyone I've seen thus far, you're the only one who matches my philosophy this closely!"
"And what philosophy is that?"
Averoth raised a finger to answer, but the moment faded away. Travis noticed the ring around his finger had already vanished. It seemed this time around the 'cutscene' ended before the truly interesting topic could be discussed.
