Chapter 64 - The Strongest

---9th October 2:35p.m.---

There he stood, with his wings so black that it covered the light around him, no one could see what he was feeling right now.

The crowd around him went silent, no one wanted to even make a sound or even move a step. What they were witnessing right there was not normal, even in a world of espers.

Was it because he was dual wielding two powers or was it because of the fact he managed to change his powers so drastically?

What they saw earlier was not what they expecting to evolve into.

"Shit..." That was the only word Kakine could mutter out. "See? You had it in you this whole time villain. I guess killing her wasn't such a bad idea after all! Now then, are you ready to take me seriously?"

Kakine grinned as he stretched his wings out yet again. Even with his wounds, he could still muster up the strength to go further.

Without wasting a single second, he aimed all six of his white wings at Accelerator as they grew even longer in size. Once they grew to 10 meters long, they went at Accelerator like a snake.

All six of his wings pointed at Accelerator's vital points shot forward at mach speed, but Accelerator didn't even move a step.

He didn't even flinch.

He didn't even move a muscle.

"?!"

All six of those wings that were supposedly aiming at his vital points missed.

Kakine couldn't believe what he saw. It could have probably been his fatigue catching up to him, but even then one of them should have hit.

Yet it didn't.

"What the fuck..." Kakine frowned as he grit his teeth even harder. "(It should have hit, I calculated every single fucking angle he could have taken...)"

Neither Accelerator nor the dragon moved. They just stared at Kakine dead in his eyes.

"(It wasn't his fucking reflection...so why?!)"

It was then that he realized his vision had gotten distorted, was what he thought.

But when he rubbed his eyes and looked again, it was different.

The area around Accelerator was constantly moving. Inch by inch they shifted left and right but they never displaced anything.

The terrain was still intact.

"(Shit!!)"

It only took Accelerator a single step before the dragon on his left arm charged at Kakine. His wings sprouted out from his back in an instant as he flew upwards, but the silhouette of Accelerator raising his other arm as he grabbed hold of the air around his fist yet again.

He simply pulled his fist down.

Suddenly, a heavy pressure surrounded his body as he was pulled back down.

"Fuck...!!"

At that instant, he was face-to-face with the dragon with its jaws ready to consume him.

He clicked his tongue as he used his wings to wrap himself in a cocoon but when he came into contact with the dragon, his protection was gone.

The sound of multiple glass shattering was heard as he looked at the face of the dragon yet again.

Just like a fly, he squirmed in the face of the dragon as he pushed himself away from the dragon's jaws as the pressure around him continued pulling him to the floor.

For once, he was truly helpless.

And in his mind he chuckled.

"(Ha...ha...so this is how I die.)"

The ground became distended as the dragon's head smashed into the ground before retracting back to Accelerator's side.

Accelerator released the grip on his right hand and when he did, blood started to drip from his right hand. He lifted his head as he looked at the spot where Kakine was supposed to be.

But he was nowhere to be found.

Accelerator grit his teeth as blood seeped from his mouth, his red stained eyes opened wide as he let out an demon-like scream into the sky yet again.

It was not because he was unsatisfied with how Kakine died, but something else.

It was simply because he didn't die.

There was no impact nor was there a body.

His eyeballs moved around as he tried to scan the area around where Kakine should have been but he was nowhere to be found.

The buildings around him within a 25 meter radius started to break apart around him as the earth below him shook vigorously.

"a%d7s&^AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!s9#@j"

A devilish roar filled everyone's eardrums and those who didn't cover their ears started to bleed intensely from their nose and their ears.

At that moment the audience around him started to flee as they shouted,

"Monster!!"

"Help me!!"

"He's out of his mind!!"

"What the fuck is he?!"

"He's a fucking monster!"

Children helplessly curled up into a ball as they cried but the adults quickly picked them up in the earthquake as they ran for it.

Nobody stopped to look back even when Anti-Skill vehicles started to pour into the scene.

------------------------

Kakine Teitoku opened his eyes from what he thought was death, only to find himself lying on a hard ground.

"This must be hell..."

However, his theory was immediately crossed out when he saw a girl wearing a Tokiwadai uniform with brown pigtails with a band around her arm with the name of 'Judgement'.

"(Yeah, no...still hell.)"

That girl was Kuroko.

She had her Judgement communicative device inside her ear as she let go of the button.

"You have a lot to explain this instance! What happened to him?" Kuroko frowned as she looked down at him.

She had teleported him away in a single instance before he was struck by the dragon.

She was sweating from the chest down. That was how close they were to dying in that instance.

Whatever Accelerator did, he most probably squeezed the pressure around Kakine to pull him down but she managed to fight against the pressure.

"I have nothing to tell you. Besides..." Kakine slowly got up from the ground as he patted the dust off him. "What can someone like you do?"

Immediately a sharp stinging pain entered his thigh.

"Kh?!"

"I'm not playing around. I need a proper explanation, it doesn't matter what I can or cannot do."

Kakine looked at his thigh only to find a needle sticking out from his thigh.

"Sorry, but I'm not the best at cooperating with low level espers like you."

"And I'm not one to play around so nicely, so speak before I actually disimpair you." Kuroko did not loosen her glare one bit as she spoke. She had briefly saw him during the Daihasei Festival so she was no stranger to who he was.

But it didn't matter, she was ready for anything he would throw at her.

"..."

"..."

There was a brief stare down between the both of them but eventually it was settled with a grunt from Kakine.

"Alright, I'll talk but if you die, don't come and haunt me."

"..." Kuroko hovered her hands over where her needles were as she scrutinized his every movement and breathing.

"I killed one of the people close to him." Kakine wasn't even the least bit remorseful for what he did as he grinned. "And then voila there you have the true monster of Academy City!! Accelerator! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

"Grrr..." Kuroko clenched her fists as she continued listening to him.

He sounded like a goon from a random alley, he was just insufferable. He was proud of killing a civilian just like that.

She couldn't tolerate this behavior but she also couldn't kill him.

So she did what she could to make him suffer.

Numerous needles stabbed his body while barely missing his vital organs.

He merely flinched as he continued grinning to his heart's content.

"Heh...what is this abuse of power. That's why Academy City is rotten to the core. It's because of people like you! You're not doing enough to protect this fucking city, you're not doing enough! That's why more innocent people will die!"

"You done talking?" Kuroko shrugged him off as she turned towards the black wings just a few blocks away.

The buildings around those black wings collapsed as distant screaming and sirens could be heard.

"You're not even a Level 5, what the fuck do you think you can even do? If I wanted to, I could even kill you right now, but I'm too lazy to do it." Kakine laid down on the ground as he tilted his head to look at her. "Even I, the 2nd strongest Level 5 can't touch him. What makes you think you'd even have a percentage of winning?"

"...It's not about winning or losing. All I have to do is bring him back."

"...Cheh, it's your death wish then."

He felt a hand over his shoulder before he was teleported yet again.

There were a few flickering lights here and there but it only lasted for a few seconds before he found himself lying beside a black vehicle with the words 'Anti-Skill' printed by the side.

"This is the culprit." Kuroko said as she nodded at the Anti-Skill officer in front of her.

"Thanks, Judgement girl. You should fall back now, Anti-Skill will take care of it here."

However, instead of turning away, she simply faced Accelerator.

"Sorry, but I'm not going to leave him like that. I still need him. Besides..." Kuroko arched her back as she prepared to go in, knowing full well she would not be able to do anything, "as a member of Judgement, I can't just look away from trouble even if it's a Level 5."

"...Cheh, I really can't stand this side of Academy City." Kakine placed his hand on the ground as he pushed himself off the ground. "I don't like the sight of the sky from down there and I especially hate the sight of that fucker in front of me."

He brushed the dust off his body as six of his white wings sprouted from his back once more.

"I'll fight with you, but don't count on me to save your ass."

"...Heh, I wasn't planning to." Although Kuroko had put up that confident act, deep down she was shaking inside because of the monster in front of her, but having another Level 5 calmed her nerves just a bit.

She had barely managed to escape from the pressure that surrounded her earlier so she wasn't even sure if she could pull it off again if the time came for it.

"But what are you going to do if he hits you again?"

"...I've got another plan in stored but I'm not sure if it'll work. But I need you to do something for me."

--------------------------

Accelerator kept scanning the area nonstop ever since Kakine disappeared.

He wanted him dead.

He wanted to rip out everything that was Kakine.

He wanted to destroy him so badly that he could never recover.

Even the dragon that was beside him breathed heavily beside him.

They were both enraged.

That was when he saw two figures approaching him from a distance.

The moment he saw them, he let out another deafening roar, but Kuroko teleported away to reposition herself and Kakine used his wings to cover himself up in a cocoon yet again.

"Shut up already!"

Accelerator twisted his body towards him and stretched his right hand out at Kakine yet again as the same pressure engulfed him.

But afterwards he disappeared from that spot just like before.

Accelerator gritted his teeth as he swung his black wings around him, destroying whatever building remained and whatever Anti-Skill vehicle there was.

Then, something overshadowed his entirety and he immediately looked up.

"Let's try diffraction once more."

He stretched his wings out to a length of 20 meters as the same burning sensation touched Accelerator's skin.

But he didn't care about the pain, the dragon on his left flew up to meet Kakine in the sky, but he merely flew past the dragon and headed straight for Accelerator.

Accelerator stretched his right hand out again but this time Kakine dodged to the side swiftly.

"Haven't you heard? Using the same trick twice won't work!!"

He aimed all six of his wings at Accelerator as the wings engulfed his vision, practically turning his vision white.

Accelerator didn't even budge because he knew it would be reflected back at him.

He expected to see Kakine lying on the floor again.

The moment the white wings disappear from his sight, Kakine would be lying on the floor like before.

However, this time was different.

The wings that attacked him were gone, but the entire area was covered in white.

"Like I said, using the same tactics twice won't work. Especially against a Level 5. Even an idiot like you should be able to understand."

"a%d7s&^AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!s9#@j"

The dragon turned around as it went after Kakine, but he didn't use his wings to fly away this time, instead he stood on the white ground as it came to him.

"That dragon may be powerful indeed that I don't understand it, but it can't maneuver that well, can it?"

Accelerator stretched his right hand out, but nothing came of it. He gripped his fist tightly to the point his fingernails pierced through his own skin but nothing happened.

"It won't work!!" Kakine shouted with a grin as he ran forward a few meters just as the dragon crashed into the white floor. "This is my space now. Just as how your power has no limits, mine doesn't have any of that either!! That's why I'm your spare plan."

Kakine had a bitter look as he spat out the last line, but his pride didn't matter anymore. The moment he had to be saved by a Level 4 was already damaging enough to his pride. There was not much pride left in him anymore. But what mattered more was the result and it was showing.

All he had to do was reverse calculate the pressure around him even if Accelerator went to the calculations of infinite, he would do the same to counteract it.

The dragon slamming into the ground didn't do much either as it exposed the ground beneath, but it was soon covered back up with Dark Matter.

Accelerator arched his back forward as his jet-black wings slammed into the ground, but the Dark Matter beneath him struck his wings from below. However, it was reflected back down and when it crashed, there was absolutely no impact at all.

Or rather, it was mitigated as there was a small hole in the ground.

"Let's try...this." Kakine spread his wings out as he prepared to flap it once to blow a devastating wind which blew at a speed of 100m/s.

However, Accelerator simply destroyed the wind's momentum with a single swipe from his right hand.

"Gotcha!"

In the next moment, the air around Accelerator started to produce a dark vapor around him, that was when a stinging sensation filled his pain receptors.

Afterwards, six white spears protruded from the white ground beneath them as they stretched out at a distance of 20 meters.

Accelerator bit his teeth as he started to reverse calculate the phenomenon surrounding him. However, Kakine was already prepared for it.

He flapped his wings once more as the wind rushed towards Accelerator, at the same time, those six blades twisted at an unnatural angle as it rushed towards him.

The dragon on Accelerator's arm quickly twisted around Accelerator as it ate up all the blades around them.

"Cheh...!" Without wasting a single second, Kakine quickly took flight near the ground and as close to his field as possible to avoid being dragged to the floor again.

"(I almost had him there...that damn dragon!)"

But before Kakine could process his thoughts once more, something inexplicable happened.

Something he did not account for, or even thought was possible.

Through the gaps between the dragon, Accelerator was still standing there for a moment.

But in the next...

...He disappeared.

"?!" On instinct, Kakine quickly used his wings to wrap himself up in a cocoon and just as he anticipated, his wings which were protecting him were pulled apart, or rather eviscerated from the center as a single hand reached out for him.

The loud sound of something stirring could be heard above him as he used whatever was left of his wings to push himself further away from that pale hand in front of him.

When he pushed back, he could see Accelerator with his black wings in a ready position to strike him from both sides if he was in his original position from before.

But all Accelerator had to do was adjust the angle of those black wings to point it straight at Kakine yet again. From the corner of his eyes, he could see the head of a dragon rushing up to him from the side.

The dragon had not moved with Accelerator, but it was only extended more from the place where his arm was.

"Shit---!!"

The dragon opened its mouth as it prepared to chomp down on Kakine.

He quickly sprouted out his wings yet again as he tried to fly away. However, just as he got out of the range of the dragon's jaws, the dark wings which were previously aimed at him rushed towards him like a bullet train.

Those black wings hit him straight in the gut as the feeling of a drill piercing his gut could be felt.

"Grrk!?"

Saliva flew out of his mouth as he crashed straight into the white ground beneath him.

When he crashed straight into the ground, he didn't waste a single millisecond to counter attack. This time, white blades emerged from the ground as they went straight for Accelerator this time.

However, the blades were immediately redirected back towards Kakine but he quickly flew out of harm's way.

The floor beneath them exploded as debris flew everywhere, hitting Anti-Skill in the process.

"(Cheh! There's no openings at all.)"

Kakine resorted to flying around him in hopes of his battery running out.

"(He should be running out of juice soon seeing as how all the chaos in the city happened in the early morning...)" Kakine took a moment to reassess the situation as he took a deep breath.

"(I got this. I'll put him down like the fucking dog he is!)"

The jaw of the dragon approached him yet again followed by the black wings again but this time he decided to take it to the skies.

Instead of flying in a straight line, he zig zagged his way around the sky. However, Accelerator's grip was faster.

An intense pressure suddenly engulfed him as he was pulled towards the ground yet again. Kakine fell to the ground almost instantaneously, his whole entirety sunk into the white floor despite it being his own creation.

He thought his head had exploded for a mere second because of the excruciating pain during the fall, this time he really couldn't think anymore. He ran out of ideas already.

His calculations were all failing him.

"(Shit...is this...really it? Is this how I die...without even being able to do anything right?)" Kakine clenched his teeth and fists as he slammed his fist into the ground. "GRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!"

His white wings sprouted out from his back once again as it reached a height of 20 meters tall. He knew it would do nothing, but he still had to try.

Despite the devastating appearance of his wings, it only took the dragon one fell swoop to destroy the wings he had created. It didn't even open it's jaws or anything spectacular. It just passed right through and destroyed it all.

Kakine looked up in horror as the eyes of the dragon looked down at him. To further drive him into despair, Accelerator with his black wings stood in front of Kakine, his hands ready to rip him apart.

Accelerator growled as he looked down at Kakine, the only things that were visible was his bloodshot eyes and teeth.

For the first time, Kakine actually feared for his life.

There was nothing he could really do. His Dark Matter was useless against him, he could only run or defend with it.

He was now in the face of the strongest esper and the head of a dragon. This time he was really shivering in fear but he couldn't even make it known.

That was how petrified he was.

And this was the first time he felt so pathetic.

"So this is your true nature, huh?"

"..."

His jet black wings swung behind him as a torrent could be heard behind him, followed by a roar of a dragon right in his face.

This was...

...Absolute power.

Accelerator stretched his hand out towards him. The palm of his dark hand facing him.

And it got closer.

4 meters.

He felt his heart jumping out of his chest as he closed his eyes.

3 meters.

His life flashed before him.

2 meters.

This was it. He thought.

And finally...

"What are you doing?" He heard the voice of a girl.

That was when he opened his eyes once more.

He thought it was just a dream.

A nightmare.

However, it was Kuroko who he was looking at.

The twin-tailed girl was right in front of him as he looked at her from the ground.

"I did what you asked me to." Kuroko said as she looked a little hesitant. "What is your plan on bringing her anyway?"

Kakine patted the dust off his body and got up as he looked at the other girl in front of him.

It was the ever emotionless girl in front of him. Always listless with no ambition whatsoever. That was why she wore a pink tracksuit wherever she went.

Takitsubo Rikou.

All of a sudden, his usual smug came back to him.

He assessed the situation in front of him right there. He was probably about 80 meters from where he was earlier right next to a random civilian vehicle.

"Couldn't you be any earlier?" Kakine remarked as he looked at Kuroko.

"Hey, just be glad that I saved your life again."

"Right, right. Judgement, is it?" Kakine sarcastically pointed out. "Anyway, Takitsubo Rikou."

Upon hearing her name, Takitsubo shot up as she prepared her hands to fight him.

"It seems like I'll be needing your help after all."

Takitsubo didn't know how to react. Or rather she already knew how to react.

"...No. Why should I help you?" For once, she let her true emotions show on her face. "After what you did to ITEM."

"..."

Kakine didn't give her an answer immediately, but he didn't have much strength to threaten her already.

When Kuroko heard her, she was also surprised. She had no idea what his plan was for bringing her along. Her only instructions were to go to a certain hotel and bring back a girl who was wearing a pink tracksuit.

Although the details were unclear, his reasoning was 'no one would wear a pink tracksuit, or even be jogging at this hour when all hell is breaking loose.'

"Why did you tell me to bring this girl along?" Kuroko inquired.

"Your AIM Stalker. As much as I hate the drug that you use, seems like I'll be needing your help to deal with Accelerator." Kakine spoke to Takitsubo without answering Kuroko's question. But there was one thing that caught her attention.

'Drug'.

"Hey, what's this drug that you're talking about?" Kuroko asked once more.

Without answering yet again, he simply dug right into her pockets as he pulled out something a small rectangular shaped container that could contain bits of sweets inside.

"Body Crystal."

"?!" The moment she heard that name, Kuroko's eyes opened wide. "B-Body Crystal?!"

"Ah, you're from Judgement aren't you? I'm sure you've heard of it before."

"...It amplifies the users esper's ability in exchange for their life." Kuroko frowned.

"That's right, and this girl here is a regular." Kakine grinned as he threw the Body Crystal container at Takitsubo. "Normally, her powers would be that of a Level 4. However, if she were to ingest the Body Crystal, her powers can rival that of a Level 5."

He looked at her with a smug on his face, "Isn't that right...AIM Stalker?"

"Gh..."

"Which brings me to my point." This time, Kakine looked at her with the sharpness of his eyes that he always had. "Help me kill the Accelerator."

"...What will I get in return for helping you?"

He didn't even need to give her an answer because he already knew what she wanted. So he gave a suggestion instead.

"I'll leave ITEM alone until this whole fiesta is over, how about it?"

However, Takitsubo's face remained the same. She was not satisfied with that answer.

"No. You'll leave us alone forever."

"Right, right. Unless you girls try to fuck me over, then I have every right to kill you guys. Deal?"

"..."

She did not like the sound of that, but knowing Mugino, she knew that she would eventually come back for him if she knew he survived.

That was the type of person she was.

She would hunt down those who've hurt ITEM and disintegrate their opponents even if it means killing the ranked 1 Level 5.

But nonetheless, a deal was a deal.

"Fine. But just remember, we'll be ready for you anytime."

"Heh, empty threats."

Takitsubo laid out the powered crystals on the back of her palm.

She then proceeded to lick them up as Kakine spread his wings once more.

"Time for round 3, Accelerator!!"

He flew in once more, this time he was much more confident in taking him down. That was how strong he believed Takitsubo's powers were.

He was not disappointed one bit.

The Dark Matter in the area dissipated and as soon as Accelerator grabbed the air in front of him, a nearby car was crushed instead.

It stunned him for a second, but he quickly sic the dragon on the approaching Kakine.

However, as soon as the dragon bared its fangs, massive amounts of blood shot out of Accelerator's open wound from his left arm.

"Kh?!"

All this time, he had been stopping the blood flow from his arm but it seems like he had lost control over his vector manipulation.

It was not right.

But the dragon continued its attack as Accelerator dropped to one knee.

Kakine swerved away from the jaws of the dragon as he continued his path to Accelerator.

"This is where you die!! ACCELERATORRRRR!!!"

One of his wings tilted towards Accelerator as it acted as a spearhead.

And for a split second, they met eye to eye.

The white wing was directed towards his heart. There was no way he could miss now.

It was just right in front of him.

A single slice in the air as he passed through Accelerator was all he needed.

And as he flew past Accelerator, there was no blood on his wings as his Dark Matter could erase it's presence to keep itself clean.

That was checkmate.

He stopped right in his tracks as he set his foot on the floor.

He had expected Accelerator to be lying on the floor, or at least with a wound through his chest.

But what he saw shocked everyone.

In a split second, he was teleported further away from Accelerator.

"What are you doing?! You completely missed him!"

"..."

Kakine couldn't believe what he had witnessed.

There was no doubt in his mind that he had stabbed the Accelerator. But...

There were no injuries.

Up till this point, his Dark Matter had never missed its mark. But here it was.

Accelerator was as clean as he could be.

It was like whatever he had done was just an...illusion.

"No...I was sure I stabbed him."

"You completely missed him by a metre. I don't know what's going on in that Level 5 head of yours, but you completely missed."

"No...it shouldn't have missed. There was no way it missed!! Unless..."

Kakine turned to look at the dragon which was rushing towards him yet again.

"Shit!" Kuroko cursed as she teleported away from the dragon with Kakine in her arms.

The dragon bit down on that spot they were previously in, but it left no damage on the scene.

"(Shit. Now I have to think of a way to overcome that damn dragon!)"

But before he could even think about his next move, something happened which shocked him.

From the open wound where the dragon came from, blood immediately spurted out but he still got up. Accelerator continued staring in front of him and in front of him was Takitsubo.

That was who he set his sights on.

He had a suspicion that she was doing something to him so he took a single step forward with the dragon on his right as drips of blood leaked out from his right arm.

His calculations were messing up every now and then, so he did not want to use his Vector Manipulation in case it made him bleed even more. He had to eliminate her first before he could start using it.

Kakine pushed Kuroko away as he unleashed a devastating attack using his Dark Matter. Multiple white blades rained down from above, but it either completely missed or were blocked by the dragon.

"Get her to safety, quick." Kakine said as he continued firing white blades from his wings. "He's already caught on to us, but as long as we keep suppressing him, he'll pass out sooner or later."

"Then what? You'll kill him when he's passed out?" Kuroko replied.

"..." Kakine didn't give an answer as he continued suppressing fire.

But Kuroko had no time to waste as well so she quickly teleported to Takitsubo.

The more blades that Kakine fired from his wings, the more hopeless it seemed. Nothing was reaching him as he took step after step.

Kuroko placed a hand on Takitsubo's shoulder as she teleported her further away from him.

"Is it still not enough?" Takitsubo asked as her eyes strained even harder.

"I'm not sure. It seems like the dragon is the problem now."

"I don't know--" Before Takitsubo could give an answer, blood flew out of her mouth and onto the road.

"Are you okay?!"

Immediately after she wiped the blood from her mouth, she continued staring at Accelerator.

"...Yeah, I'm fine. This is just a side effect...of using...body crystals. You should know...right?"

Kuroko had a sour look on her face as she listened to her. As a member of Judgement, whatever she was doing was wrong and she knew it, but there were no other options.

Instead of preserving peace, she's creating more casualties.

It was just not right.

And she knew it.

Yet, there was nothing she could do.

"..." Kuroko placed her hand onto the belt strapped to her thighs as she aimed it at Accelerator.

The moment she teleported her needles, however, they all hung in the air and dropped to the ground.

"(No way...I was sure my calculations were spot on.)"

"Are you figuring it out now? It's not my aim that's the problem. It's the dragon that's affecting the space around him." Kakine shouted from above as he continued showering Accelerator with white blades. "Our only option is to wait until he bleeds out or just keep trying our luck."

"(The space around him...)" Kuroko continued to think about an idea, and suddenly an idea came up."(If the space around him is distorted, then what happens if I go up close to him? There would be no powers at play.)"

She knew what she had to do.

She knew it would be dangerous to go close, especially since he is the strongest esper.

But she also knew that there was no other option.

She teleported right in front of him.

She pivoted her feet and hips.

"I know what you're feeling right now."

She pulled her right arm back.

"I know what it's like to lose someone you truly care for."

Accelerator stared down at her with his eyeballs.

"Because you took her from me!"

Accelerator prepared to swing his right arm.

"I suffered as well."

She threw her right fist forward the same time that he did.

Both of their fists connected as Accelerator's head tilted back, but Kuroko's didn't.

"So it's not fair for you to complain and cry about it while I bit through the pain!!"

She swung her left fist afterwards.

A dull impact could be heard as his head tilted further backwards. At the same time, he sic the dragon upwards, towards Kakine.

"Well shit." Kakine cursed as he witnessed the dragon flying upwards towards him.

"So wake up and move on!!"

Kuroko slammed her right fist on the side of Accelerator's face one last time. This time, it sent him flying backwards as blood continued pouring out of his wound.

He landed with a hard thud.

When the dragon was rushing towards Kakine, he turned tail to try and escape it again.

He soared through the sky with his Dark Matter, but the moment he turned around, he realized the dragon was gone.

Kuroko knelt down beside him as she went down to his chest and listened for his heartbeat.

It was still there, but it was faint. Afterwards, she checked for his pulse and it was faint as well.

"His arm--"

When she went to check on his right arm to see how much damage was done, she realized his arm had grown back.

"What the...?" Kuroko questioned herself about what just happened, but she quickly got back on track and looked towards Takitsubo who was lying on the floor.

She teleported to where Takitsubo laid to check on her as well and when she heard her heartbeat and pulse, she deemed her to be fine as well.

But then, there was one more problem.

Kakine Teitoku.

He slowly descended upon Accelerator's fallen body with a smirk on his face.

"The fight is over. What else do you want with him?" Kuroko asked as she glared at him.

"Over? The fight is only over when the opponent dies." Kakine grinned as he aimed one of his white wings at Accelerator. "Do you know how long I've waited for this moment? The moment where I get to kill you and become the #1 Level 5?! Do you know how much I've--"

Before Kakine could finish his sentence, a great amount of force pushed him to the ground.

The asphalt beneath him exploded as it sent dust and debris flying towards Kuroko. She raised up her arm to try and block the debris and dust from flying into her eyes.

The moment the dust settled, she saw a tall feminine figure standing on top of Kakine's fallen body. She wore a white uniform vest with gold lining with no shirt below, as well as a long skirt with a bold slit up the side. It looked more like a Chinese dress and yet it wasn't. Her long black hair was tied up in two buns and a braid. The tall high school girl hid her lower face behind a greyish metallic mask that seemed to fit her lower jaw nicely. It seemed to cover the entire circumference of her head.

However, the more interesting thing was the person on her back. Her long hair looked fluffy like a marshmallow and she looked to be about Kuroko's height. But the most notable thing was her dressing. She was wearing a summer Tokiwadai top and skirt.

She was Mitsuari Ayu.

"Mary-chan★ Did you kill him?"

"No, I don't think so, my Queen." The tall girl named Mary responded lifelessly as she inspected his body.

"Errr...how about checking the body for me?" Ayu asked as she got off Mary's back. The moment she got off, Mary knelt down to inspect Kakine's body but was cutoff by Ayu.

"No, I don't mean him. I mean Accelerator★"

"Oh, my apologies, Queen." Mary went over to Accelerator and placed her hand on his chest.

"It's alright, try not to repeat it again, okay★"

"Seems like he'll be fine."

"Alright, can you carry both of us and get us out of here?"

"Wait..." Kuroko whispered.

Kuroko couldn't believe what she was seeing. Those two people simply flew in, stomped on the 2nd ranked Level 5, inspected a body, and was just going to leave like that.

"I can carry him on my shoulders and you with my arms."

"Wait..." Kuroko said with a louder voice, but it fell on deaf ears.

"Hmm...sounds fine I guess?" Ayu placed a finger below her chin as she thought about it. "But I want to get things sorted out before he regains consciousness."

"Wait a minute!!" Kuroko shouted this time, but they simply glanced at her and turned back.

"Oh oh! How about putting him below me so I can use him as a cushion★" Ayu asked elatedly.

"Sounds doable, my Queen." Mary responded with the same listless tone in her voice.

However, before Mary could pick Accelerator up, Kuroko teleported right above Ayu as she tried to dropkick her.

But her efforts were futile as not even a second had passed and she was grabbed on the neck and thrown to the asphalt floor, like a ragdoll.

She was fortunate to be lightweight as she only landed with a hard thud.

"Kh...!?"

"Oh, Kuroko-chan! I forgot about you, hehe. I'll just be borrowing Accelerator for a while. I hope you don't mind★" Ayu said as she winked at her.

"What the hell...do you need him for?" Kuroko weakly responded. Mary picked up Accelerator from the ground before kneeling right before Mitsuari Ayu.

"You don't need to worry★ I'll give him back once I'm done."

Ayu laid on top of Accelerator as Mary easily lifted the both of them up. She squatted down and then with a single push from her legs, she jumped forward. That one single jump was strong enough to create a strong wind current and it was enough to make Kuroko lose sight of them.

"Damnit!!" Kuroko cursed as she slammed her fists down at how hopeless everything was.

This was only a start to a secret war.
