"Can you care to explain, how are you alive?"
In a secret hideout a one-eyed black, heavily injured man is laying on bed surrounded by few people.
"Well, what can I say. Dead don't want me, so they sent me back." Nick Fury who is heavily injured replied in sarcastic manner to Steve's question.
"On other hand, I am curious what type of training you guys are doing. I tried to contact Carl about you, but he said I will see you when you complete Phase 1 of your training."
"Wait. Phase One?" Steve eyes widened upon hearing Fury's word.
"Was all that just first phase? Is he trying to kill us." Natasha asked in an indignant voice.
"We have to return, We have to return back there." Banner repeated with hollow eyes with no life in them.
Seeing all three of them acting like this Fury and his right hand man (woman) Maria Hill wondered Carl did to break them to this extent.
When me, banner and natasha finally left that devil's island, we thought we will finally be free, and we even decided a holiday plan to relax after all that training.
But when we reached back home, we were informed that Nick Fury is dead. And somehow SHIELD thinks that we are the killers since we disappeared two years ago and apparently Fury has erased all data on Carl and our training session, though we don't know why.
Before we can figure out what to do, we were surrounded by SHIELD personnel wanting to capture us. Banner wanted to kill them all, you know I think Hulk's personality has rubbed him off. Even though he can control his powers, he has become more arrogant and rash.
Back to the topic, thought Banner wanted to kill them. Me and Natasha managed to convince him otherwise, we don't know anything that has happened in past two years and with Fury's death.
We are a little lost but if want more information on Fury's case we need to get inside SHIELD as that is the best choice and with our increase in combat power, it will not be easy to detain us even of they want it.
Seeing that we are willing to co-operate Rumlow who is current leader of Strike team motioned his men to stand down.
"Its been a while Cap. come with us Director Pierce will be happy to see you." Saying this he motioned us to follow him.
Half an hour later we suddenly stopped under a rundown bridge out of nowhere. Seeing that something is not right I signalled Banner and Natasha to be cautious.
Soon door was opened and we were greeted by sight of Rumlow and his crew pointing their guns at us.
"Sorry Cap, its not person..." Rumlow said showing a goofy smile.
But before he can speak Banner punched him straight at his face, sending him crashing him into his two crew members.
Seeing this as start of battle me and natasha quickly joined but we were surprised to see someone of them killing their own. After dealing with everyone else I turned towards the crew member who helped us, though we don't need it.
"Who are you?"
"This is not the place to have a conversation. Come with me." Removing her helmet Agent Hill escorted us someplace safe.
"Is Fury dead?" Natasha asked.
"Yes but before he died he gave me this pendrive and told me not to trust anyone." Hill place a SHIELD pendrive as she explained.
"The why are you showing this to us?" Steve stared in Hill's eyes as he questioned her.
"He said SHIELD is compromised but I know few people who can be trusted and I think you guys one of them."
"Alright, now what is in this."
"We don't know. Its protected and not even Fury was able to open it, it seems his data was erased from SHIELD prior to his death and thats why he handed me this as he understood that something is going on."
"Gimme that." Saying this Natasha took pendrive and connected it to the computer on nearby table.
Seeing this Hill face changed and hurriedly shouted.
"Don't they will be able to track it. All of SHIELD pendrive are trac.."
"I know, we have nine minutes before they reach us and I don't even think we will be able to break its protection. But then lets see where it comes from." Natasha replied without turning her head as she hastily typed.
"Got it."
Hearing her I stood up and looked at screen before I froze in shock.
"You know where this is?" Asked Natasha.
"Very well." I replied absent-mindedly.
"Thats where my story started."
Next day we reached that place and what we found was a SHIELD base.
"I never knew SHIELD has such old base." Banner said.
"No, not old. This is SHIELD first base. Where it all began." Hill replied to Banner.
Creak! Slide! Creak!
"Hey come here." Natasha called us, looked like she found a hidden lift which took us all underground.
Reaching downstairs we found that it contain data banks as far as one can see.
"This can't be the data point. This technology is ancient." Natasha comments seeing everything. But she soon spotted an anomaly, she found a USB connector which looked out of place among all ancient technology.
"Let me connect." Saying this she connected the USB.
But what we then saw that shocked us to the core. It seems that Zola, the crazy scientist I have captured in WW2 from Red skulls camp latter joined SHIELD, Seeing that he is about to die he used his brain and created himself in some sort of artificial intelligence in a 200,000 feet Data banks.
And another shocking fact came when I got to know that HYDRA which I have wasted my life to destroy is still alive and I am even working for them for years.
Coming out my shock I glanced at panicking Hill as SHIELD has fired a missile towards us.
"Lets go." Natasha said but as soon as we tried to run our escape route was blocked be Zola.
"Banner, now." Getting my hint. Banner tranformed into his Pseudo-Hulk state and blasted open the gate that was blocking us.
Bang! Crash!
After that we used Natasha's Chakra Strings to escape from their.
"Well since you are here, I think she will be safe now." said Fury. While nodding at Hill. Catching on Fury's hint Hill came forward and presented him a pendrive.
"Project Insight. Few years ago Fury presented World Council a plan to launch three world's strongest Heli-carrier in the sky and join them to all worlds defence satellite. And with this algorithm we will be able to find any threat in the world before it even begin and eliminate it in seconds. However we were declined. But due to New York War has scared them deep, so they passed this plan. With this peace can be achieved."
"Wait, you want to kill them for a crime they didn't even commit. This is madness. And this is not peace its fear." Steve shouted in anger.
"But how will you decide, who to kill?" Asked Natasha.
"21st century is the digital book, Romanoff. And apparently Zola has taught HYDRA how to read it. Every choice a person take in a life defines him. Bank records, medical history, voting pattern, e-mails, phone calls, even your SAT. It all shapes a person. Read your past to know your future. With this they can decide who is a threat to HYDRA and they can eliminate him." Said Fury.
"We have to stop them and salvage what we have left." Fury said.
"No there will no salvage. We will be taking down SHIELD." Steve.
"SHIELD has nothing to do with it." Fury.
"SHIELD's been compromised. You said that. HYDRA was growing under your nose and nobody noticed." Steve
"Why do you think we are meeting here? I noticed." Fury
"How many paid the price before you noticed. You wanted peace through fear with yoir project Insight, just like HYDRA" Steve stared angrily at Fury.
Seeing Steve's glare, fury turned his head sideways.
"SHIELD, HYDRA it all goes." Steve points at him.
"My, My. I am sorry to say this but I can't allow you to do it." everyone took thier weapons and pointed at new sudden voice.
