His panicked cry, "Ate Sari, what should we do?" made her stomach drop and her guilt sink deeper. But there was no time for a pity party. They needed a plan, or they'd be nothing more than a feast for a sacred beast.
"Get behind me," Sari instructed, her voice steady despite the internal tremor she felt. "It's a good thing the lullaby made them drowsy; they won't be as aggressive."
Frank nodded, quickly taking shelter behind his sister. Sari gave his shoulder a quick, steady tap for reassurance. "Recover your stamina and mana," she told him. "I'll figure out another way to tame them."
