Even the Moon's lullaby couldn't quite tame the wolves. All it did was make them drowsy, and the serenity of the melody washed over the spectators too, melting away their worries.

​Sari knew that only made their failure more likely. The feeling within her became unbearable the moment she saw Frank's composure crack. His panicked cry, "Ate Sari, what should we do?" made her stomach drop and her guilt sink deeper. But there was no time for a pity party. They needed a plan, or they'd be nothing more than a feast for a sacred beast.

​"Get behind me," Sari instructed, her voice steady despite the internal tremor she felt. "It's a good thing the lullaby made them drowsy; they won't be as aggressive."

​Frank nodded, quickly taking shelter behind his sister. Sari gave his shoulder a quick, steady tap for reassurance. "Recover your stamina and mana," she told him. "I'll figure out another way to tame them."
