Train listened as she prayed with him, then said, "Let us take a swim?"
Smiling, Train knows she is concealing her inheritance, but it doesn't seem to matter to her, whether she has an inheritance or not; the gift in her bag matters more.
Hearing the footsteps of the others coming closer to the pool, I called out to them; then I went and sat by the pool. "Dad, the water is lovely. Why don't you come and join Shawney and me?"
"In a while, Son, you enjoy your swim." When the others get into the pool, Shawney remain alongside Torren, swimming.
Noticing Travis getting closer to Shawney, I get in, knowing that if Candis realises what his intentions are, it will be chaos once again.
Keeping a close eye on him, understanding why Candis was quarrelling. Torren was not paying attention; he was enjoying his swim with Carl, Jeff, and Lasandra.
Swimming next to her to detour Travis' plans, "Now my child tells me about your trip on the road?"
"I am sure your travelling through Chicago was much more interesting and exciting than mine, you see the difference between you and me is, you had your van to rest sometimes. But I had no place when the night came."
"Yes, I agree, but my van was very lonely."
"Well, I hope you know, I had to find a place most of the days. Do you know how much praying I had to do? So yours had to be more interesting."
"Interesting, you say, do you know what it was like going from village to village, crossing from one town to another, driving alone in the country, hoping to find the right prospective candidate."
Hearing her laugh, "Shawney, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack."
"Well, Sir, you are lucky if you find it; few people are fortunate to find what they are looking for."
"You are right, many times I almost lost all hope, and when I did find it, it almost slipped through my fingers."
"You are too, too clever to allow that to happen."
"I agree," looking at Travis, "I have to be my child, to protect the precious things I value. Or it could get corrupted and cause chaos."
Feeling the hand encircle around her waist, trying to remove it, but the person lifts her, resting her to sit on the edge of the pool. Seeing it was Torren, "Boy, I am hungry," Shawney said.
"You are?"
"Uh, huh ."
"Then sit right here, I will be right back," Torren told her as he sprinted out of the pool and hurried out.
He looked so happy as he hurried to the front of the shed. When he returned, "What are you up to now?"
Taking her hand in his, "I wanted to know how long again before lunch is ready."
"I wish Liz came down, I could do with a piece of cake and some ice cream."
"I believe it has cake and ice cream?" Torren said.
"Yeah!"
"Well, I think so, I saw the cake on the counter, and yesterday Jeff bought ice cream, you just relax while I run up and get some."
"How about I join you, and we eat it in the flower garden?"
"Fabulous idea, I see you think very quickly, okay, let's go."
"Torren, my bible."
"I will get it for you." Noticing as she waited on Torren, Travis's eyes were like a dagger, piercing through her body.
Feeling so uncomfortable, but then she had this chilly feeling inside, wondering, 'If she remains a bit too long in the water?'
When Torren returns, holding out her bible, "Your bible, my friend."
That was the least thing on her mind; the chilliness was one thing, but Travis stare was scary and unscrupulous. Shawney felt naked in front of Travis, leaving her no choice; she asked Torren, "Torren, can I borrow your shirt, please?"
"Sure, are you feeling cold?" When he takes his shirt off, he rests it over her shoulder. "Shawney, you are trembling. Come on and change first, then we will eat the cake and ice cream."
Following behind him, but the chilliness was growing more intense.
Covering her mouth with her hand, hoping the rattling of her teeth won't be heard. Becoming a little anxious, 'What is wrong with me, Lord? I know Friday night inside the church was a bit chilly, and I got the sniffles, but this coldness is frightful?
"Oh Lord, I only hope I am not coming down with any virus. I know these people might help me, but please, I don't want to be a burden.'
Running up the last few steps, then went into the kitchen whispering in Mrs Louise's ear, "Please make me some chicken soup if that is not too much trouble." Observing the lovely smile, Shawney then hurried up to her room.
Hearing Torren say as he put his head in the room. "Shawney, I will be waiting for you downstairs next thirty minutes."
"Okay, Torren, and thank you." Watching him hurried off, Shawney concentrated on her bath, using the water the hottest she could endure, hoping with all her heart that this fearful chilliness would just disappear. Time passed quickly when the knocking on the bathroom door came, "Yes!"
"Ma'am, your soup is ready."
"Thank you so much, Mrs Louise, I am starving," hurrying out, Shawney wrap herself with the towel and uses another towel to wrap her hair, then sits on the bed sipping the warm soup. Shawney's back was against the wall when she heard Torren enter.
Observing her drinking the soup, then sits next to her, "You really amaze me sometimes."
"Yeah."
"Yeah, I was waiting downstairs, and here you are, busy filling your stomach and completely forgetting about me."
"Oh gosh, I am so sorry, I had a craving this. Do you mind if we eat that cake and ice cream later?"
"So, what will I do in the meantime?"
