The staircase they had come through was sealed by a stone door that descended, completely enclosing the space around them.
Subsequently, that familiar rumbling sounded again, shaking the entire temple as if a ferocious beast was charging overhead, before cascading down!
They all looked up to see a torrent pouring down like a waterfall, churning up huge waves within the sealed Stone Chamber!
Fortunately, the stone slabs beneath their feet rose just in time, sparing them from becoming drenched.
Still, their trouser legs and shoes were completely soaked through.
The stone columns continued to rise, and the water level, as if in pursuit, rose as well, forming whirlpools around the pillars.
