The waves crashed on the beach, the wind howled, and Du Lai faintly heard something else.
He suspiciously looked around, his gaze falling on a cluster of reef rocks not far ahead. Quickening his pace, he walked over and climbed onto a lower rock, finally seeing the source of the sound—
A monkey.
To be precise, a monkey trapped in a golden cage.
Du Lai couldn't help but sigh.
More than a monkey, he wished to find something useful, like bottles and jars to collect rainwater, plastic bags, or tools for camping outdoors such as knives and ropes.
But there was none of that.
Only a monkey.
The cage was stuck between some rocks, and the monkey inside was letting out pitiful cries, its big round eyes innocently looking at Du Lai, as if pleading for rescue.
If he didn't rescue it, with the tide rising, it would drown.
Du Lai braced against a rock, got into the gap between the rocks, grabbed the metal ring at the top of the cage, and pulled it out with force.
