On the stage, Mei Yue'er and Quan Yun finished gathering power for their skills. Both weapons shone green, though the techniques waiting behind that light belonged to different fighters.
Quan Yun had answered the challenge with another Wind Blade, this one stronger than the slashes that had already cut apart the clones. Across from her, Yue'er had prepared an Aurora Slash to meet it. After all the changes of position and the confusion of the earlier exchanges, the two now faced each other with their attacks openly gathered.
Quan Yun looked fierce while Yue'er looked rather calm.
For a moment, the arena seemed to fall silent around them. Their weapons remained bright in that brief pause before release.

Without a signal, both released their skills. Quan Yun's Wind Blade shook the surrounding air. Yue'er's pale-green crescent raced toward it, carrying the Theríon she had gathered into Aurora Slash.
