Chapter 1385 - 1384. Helmet of Phobus

It was getting late, but Seth wanted to finish the helmet before getting off work. Immediately after finishing the etchings on the soul helmet, he began infusing it into the physical helmet. As expected, infusing the souls into the strands of hair was a pain, but he had already done worse.

When the soul settled in its new body, he could finally give it a dip in the Water of Styx to fix the soul to the item and have it reborn as a finished helmet.

The expected messages sounded, though he had to check the item to see what had actually changed. Taking the royal blue helmet, with silver ornaments and a white horsetail plume from the bubble of water, he gave it a look with his .

Sky Dragon Armor Set : To be updated.

An eccentric bascinet forged by Master Smith, the first Master Blacksmith and Master Enchanter of Urth. Created from the legendary Heart Scale of a Sky Dragon. It was touched by the divine and enchanted with demonic and mysterious means. It grants fear to the enemy and a calm mind to the user.

Requirements: Acknowledgment of Phobos >

Seth had somewhat expected it, since he had already seen that demonic and godly power had a certain tendency to influence each other, but the demonic enchantment had actually been completely changed.

In theory, the Trumpets of Purson should have created a passive skill of the same name, that could strike fear into the minds of hostiles, while creating a terrible noise in their ears. Seth had actually hoped that this additional aura skill could facilitate the creation of a skill like .

Instead, Purson's energy seemed to have been completely absorbed and changed by the blessing of Phobos. As a result, three effects had changed. The Aura of Panic the horse tail was supposed to have was turned into the Aura of Phobos.

The aura originally lowered the mental resistance of hostiles by 30% and the resistance to fear and panic by 50%. These had risen to 45% and 65% respectively. The increase of fear-based had also increased by 50%.

However, the biggest change was probably that in stead of the passive skill , the helmet had another Aura called Aura of Konabos. Konabos was another horse of Ares apart from Phobus, and Seth knew as much.

The Aura of Konabos had a very similar effect to the intended demonic skill. It could actively create and passively amplify noise for hostiles within the range of the aura. The chance to be affected by the status ailments "Noise", "Fear", "Confusion", and "Disorientation" were raised by 25% for hostiles.

Like the Aura of Phobus, the maximum range depended on the user's willpower, while its active strength could be strengthened by mental power. Depending on Faenys' mental power, she might be able to use it to blow out someone's eardrums with just the aura's active effect.

There was one more change, as the higher trait "Draconic Heritage" of the soul had turned into "Dragon Heritage" thanks to its fusion with the Sky Dragon Material. It was the same trait the Climatic Gloves held, which raised defense multipliers and mana multipliers slightly.

Coming from the soul were also 25% resistance to mental effects granted to the user, as well as the trait "Dragon Mind", which was the result of distilling the dragon newt souls. The trait raised mental power by 55%, improved the multiplier for mental power per willpower by 0.6. It also improved Mental Resistance by 27%.

With just these two, someone with no mental resistance at all would instantly gain ~30% resistance, which was not bad. Considering Faenys and the other stats, she would become close or outright immune, Seth guessed.

Finally, the blacksmith sewed in the suspension liner one of Nädel's disciples had prepared. The reason he didn't put it in before was that it, like the decoration, wasn't part of the actual helmet. It would wear and tear and might need replacing after some time, so it made little sense to infuse part of the soul in it.

With that third piece of the Sky Dragon Armor finally reached completion and Seth could leave the workshop satisfied. He didn't immediately port back to his bed; instead, he went to visit the Tailor Workshop.

He knew Faenys had spent her morning watching Nädel, and the blacksmith was interested to see whether her presence had helped motivate the master. Seeing the light shine through from under the door, he was assured the old tailor was still inside.

"Nädel, you there?" he asked as he knocked on the door. He just hoped Faenys's presence didn't work too well, and the old man started overworking himself again. He had not looked too well when he pulled all-nighters for Mina's armor. A pair of boots was not that important.

"Seth? Come in, the door is open," the soft voice rang out. Opening the door, Seth found the old man casually sitting at his workbench. He seemed quite relaxed. There was a bottle of booze on the table, and Nädel was just leisurely taking a sip from a whiskey glass.

"Looks like you are enjoying your evening," Seth said with a smile.

"Yeah, the little lady gave me this bottle earlier and I thought I would have a taste after work," he said with a chuckle, swishing the booze in his glass.

"I'm sorry, I hope she didn't hurry you too much," the blacksmith said with an apologetic smile. After all, he was the one who told her to go watch Nädel and maybe motivate him a little.

"No worries. I would have finished the boots today either way," he said with a laugh and placed a slender pair of knee-high boots on the workbench. They almost looked like a perfectly fine pair of soft casual-wear boots, despite being made from relic-rated dragon wing leather.

What differentiated them from normal shoes was the complete lack of adornments and the various places that Seth would be able to attach the greaves and sabatons to. Armored boots, where everything was directly fixed to a pair of boots, were actually not something that appeared in the history of Urth.

It was a piece of armor people came up with because of the system. The system only had one slot for boots. Since a player could directly equip a pair of boots, instead of having to physically put them on, the boots had fused with the armor pieces usually worn separately.

One of a fine pair of boots fashioned from high-quality Sky Dragon Wing Leather by Master Fädli. Impeccable craftsmanship has bestowed several additional effects on the shoe.>

Flight Speed again? With the two boots and the helmet, Faenys would double her flight speed... if she could fly. Although the first option stumped him a little, Seth was quite happy with the remaining effects.

An additional 40% power for movement skills was massive, just considering the already finished pieces. Soft Soles and Supported Ankles were the same. The first raised Movement Speed by 20%, while the other raised the power of a jump by 10%. The whole set raised Movement speed by 50% and jumping by 25%.

This was just the effects of the material and good craftsmanship. Seth's work and enchantments would be added on top of this foundation. He had been quite satisfied with the helmet, but maybe the boots would end up the most powerful piece of the set...
