Chapter 164 - Chapter 163 Flamebrand

"He signed it," Avalon let out her eyes, shining from the red glow coming from the mansion seen for miles. Coille and Ally, beside her observed with her, in silent fellowship. Coille peered at Ally seeing her staring at Avalon cautiously. Ally took hold of Avalon's arm tugging her away from the clearing, Avalon stared at Ally hearing her say,

"We need to get back. They could come out soon Avalon. We can't be seen,"

Avalon nods "Yeah.. you're right, just like Salvatore said, observe but from far away."

Avalon took a step away when they heard a roaring bang come from the mansion, there head drew to it, Ally pulled Avalon away pratctily dragging her away. Avalon followed her, tripping a bit. As Coille followed suit, his hand drifting towards Avalon's back helping her move as his gaze caught three moving people walking out of the luxurious mansion, the path around the three seemed to mold together, oppressive is what he would describe it as, Avalon peeked at it as well Sandel in her head worried. Hesitant. But a huge weight of having to interfer but can't place her full strength into this, they observed until they couldn't see them heading to the car,

"There it is his soul all wrapped in this paper he wanted," Bal emphasized

Rolling up the oath placing it into his side of his suit jacket, he held it for a moment, savoring the power emerging from the page, he smiled, patting it,

"Sad he didn't let us stay any longer i would have loved to get into Peter's head a bit more, witnessing he's still holding onto his old life by a thread, it's his weak point I like to open."

Formoir mussed snuggling into Bal's hair, twirling some of the brown locks, Bal smiled feeling him do that, peering up at his angel not seeing his capos beside him staring at the angle,

"Blake was just overwhelmed, he's not used to a lot of people," Bal explained he glancing at Don and Caille,

"He's the gang leader, he's with people most of the time, Bal," Don let out

"Blake is but I can understand wanting to be alone, left into your own darkness to rest not whiter away, but to build on what was all already there,"

"Or you were annoying him with your consent digs," Callie answered

"Well, I would like to poke at him even once in a sentence,"

"That or you were trying to see what lay in his mind," Don quipped

Bal turned to him so fast he heard a crack was heard from his neck. Bal glared at him offended.

"I don't look..into his mind persay. I just wanted a glimpse of what he is."

"You're just twisting it now boss," Caille uttered, leaning close to him with a small smirk on her face, Bal glared at her and said,

"Twisting it…or having another way Caille?" Bal asked

Caille looked away while they walked to the car, Caille glared at Bal with her arms around her chest,

"Keep telling yourself that boss at this point, you can twist the world to your whim"

"Well i already have it at my whim most of it at least," Bal said holding his jacket close feeling the oath pulsing under his hand, Don opened the door for Bal letting him in, Bal laid in the middle, They followed Bal sitting at his sides when Don knocked on the door in between them and there driver, the car leaped driving away from Blake mansion, Bal sits there feeling a silk string from his head stretching to his hand, Formoir moved standing on Bals hand, the spidered in bodied angel truneds to Bals its eyes have a particular shine to them, hes excited.

"Bal they haven't shown yet? But where do you feel it?" Formor inquired

Bal stared at Formoir, confused, before a small grin grew on his face. He moved, petting Formoir gently with his finger. Formoir glared at him, begrudgingly leaning into his caress. Bal pets his small body as he feels the sting, the fire that burns around them. In their souls, they felt it burn away at them.

"Yes, I can sense her close, she must have seen the light show" Bal announced.

Formoir laughed under his breath, moving away from Bals pets, he moved closer to the edge of Bals hand. He sees the soft lights from the window, nothing he hasn't seen before,

"They're waiting for us aren't they?" Formoir wondered out loud, laying down its eyes out the window, Bal leans into his left side, his grin didn't fade leaning his head back looking at Caille,

"Tell me if any of our men have seen a limb of our little firebrand Caille i ant to know before we get to our base,"

Caille nods taking her phone calling their people, her bitter tone trailed through the car, Bal smiled at her not out of kindness but a sick. Almost manic smile, Caille glanced at him while talking on the phone,

"Look over the area where we were to the road five miles out, check if there is a sign that anyone observed us,"

Bal hears the other peron on the line as his gaze met Fomoris, the small spider laid carelessly in his hand edge almost falling its eyes half lids but kept on the window on Dons side, when it made strings curling around the car tieing them to there seats, Caille halted her call her sentence trailed off, feeling the soft but manipulative, it pulled the phone closer her dark blue eyes inspected the small angel,

"He's not pulling out his strings for control this time, it's for protection, reluctant. But the same," Caille thought

Don peeked at Formoir to his dark brown eyes, almost black, felt the strings around him like a wall protecting them, he moved, touching it his voice a hush whisper,

"There's something out there you're protecting us from?"

"Not quite, more of as I am to protect myself from," Formoir answered, snuggling into Bals hand, peering at his host, his eyes gleaming,

"For you…but mostly for me you know how it is Bal, protecting my body. My puppet that I have to protect for now," Formoir purred, his string tangled around them, the car moving a few bumps steadily, but nothing unusual. Bal grin didn't falter like Formoir would have anticipated. It grew larger than he had seen before. Bal curled his hand around Formoir like a soft hold, not threatening but controlling.

"I knew that the whole time Formoir you didn't even have to mention it," Bal laughed his top finger petting Formoir's head. Formoir glared at Bal, but his pets soothed the angel's anger. Slightly, his eight eyes narrowed, staring into Bals soul, the fabricated wall he has made over time, till there covered in his energy, still strong hiding away his inner thoughts. Formoir scoffed his legs, pulling him out of Bals hand,

"Never going to let me in Bal I'm that unworthy of knowing my host's innermost worries?"

"Worthy never trusting you, No Formoir in just a puppet after all" Bal answered his grind, almost glowing. Formoir crawled onto his hand when the car stopped lunging forward. Don, Caille, and Bal pushed against the string catching them, Caille held onto the strings, stunned she ended the call, peering at Bal and Formoi, they were amused looking out the windows. Caille's eyes caught Dons, his eyes held the same calm regal his hand lightly gripped the string as he sat back in the seat, his hand on his rabbit that lay in his side, it stirred hopping into his lap looking up at Don, he petted it,

"The fuck are they doing?" Caille hisssed pushing herself up and harshly opening the car door, peering out to see the drive checking his motor, it was steaming the sounds coming from it were like the metal clashing against something. Don looked at Bal seeing him leaning back in his seat, holding Formoir to his chest grinning down at his angel,

"They hoped it's her it would be lovely to see the enemy up close wouldnt it Formoir,"

The spider cackled, tightening his string, "Yes it has been some time almist sixe mouths right?"

Bal pushed Caille out of the door making her stumble out of the car laning on her feet she peered at Bal's large form coming out of the car his hetrochromic eyes scanned over the road and the forest beside it, theres still a faint glow from the oath red, his gin faltered as he looked over the area, no light. No whisp of orange hair, no eye catching iridesnt flames, Bal growled under his breath as he strode away from the car, Don got out of his side watching Bal and Caille getting up,

"He's eager that's never a good sign," Don uttered he wandered past the car closer to Bal, petting his rabbit thin lines of black mist came off it, Caille got up, whipping herself off,

"It ends up with us cleaning a bloody mess," Caille scoffed, following them in her steps forming into a stride, Bal stared into the tree line

"There was something here wasnt there Formoir?" Bal woundered peeking at Formoir wanting his answer,

Formoir caught Bals gaze, his eyes dark wide, and flickering around the forest scenery. Nothing, no light. No line of cars that held her in, no striking entrance. No tussles he's been aching for, that Formoir wanted since the last time he saw the fire angel,

"They flee from us? That doesn't sound like her," Foromir let our he moved up his arm, crawling up to his shoulder, his black body showed in the mood light his eight eyes gleaned around them, skeptical.

"No not at all like her,"

"It isnt but here we are living in suspense cant you taste it? The ting on your skin the taste of ash in the air," Bal grammbled

"I can its a old taste Bal, the old ash made anew with a piece of wood recandeling its flame," Formier explained

Bal walked closer to the forest as he shouted for Caille and Don, his head tilting their way, his brown eyes catching them,

"Make the car start by any means. We have something far more interesting to watch over the line. They have found a hidden alie in," Bal shouted his grin groing into a full maniac grin, he trued his gaze back to the tree line yearning to witness the burning silver eyes that would clash with hi, the fire that burned around her a sign of her angels blessing, nothing once more gawked at him, Bal tightens his fist his body went slumped peering down at Formoir,

"They don't want to show," Bal uttered

"Or we were wrong they might not be here at all," Formoir let out

Bal took one more longing peer at the forest the road, just to see if that light would gleam on his once again. But for this time only on him. Bal looked away disappointed his back to the wooden grounds while his gaze found Dons the dark brown seeps into his own when it widens so slightly he wouldn't have noticed if he hadn't been staring at him, Bal once diminishing grin turned to a invigorated one, He turned his head slightly with Formoir followed him swerving around facing the now oppressive light came from the tree line, Bal turned his head to the opseen glow. Avalon held onto one of the trees her blazen eyes tore into his, Bal let out a laugh his body turned to face Avalon. Iridescent fire that curls around her, her eyes held the faint shine of the power that lurks in her. Formoir hummed delighted,

"There here all so fire as we anticipated."

Bal took a step towards her, not bother for the cries of caution from Caille behind him, he held his hand out for Avalon, his eyes glowing not with her light but with one of his own.

"Hello, firebrand, meet the webs that hold it all together,"
