FADE IN
INT. THE STING
SAMANTHA loads her 9MM as JARED swerves and follows the BLIMP on the BEACON he had for the VAN.
SAMANTHA looks about as JARED pushes the earpiece in.
JARED
(O.S.)
CHARLES...answer me man...
SAMANTHA
If he's not answering then he's either been taken or killed...
JARED
Fuck...
SAMANTHA
Let's just get to the...WATCH OUT!
JARED spins the CAR as a WEREWOLF runs into it, JARED quickly stabling it as SAMANTHA watches a HORDE of WEREWOLVES beginning to siege towards the STING as SAMANTHA see's the VAN looming a few HUNDRED YARDS AWAY.
SAMANTHA
Nice and easy JARED!
JARED
What are you doing!?
SAMANTHA begins rolling down the WINDOW as a WEREWOLF lunges straight for her but she aims out the window and caps it FOUR times in the head before she grabs onto the hood of the CAR and pulls herself out of the STING and onto the ROOF, JARED watching on stunned as he swerves the CAR as it clips a WEREWOLF who jumps onto the back, but is quickly shot off as SAMANTHA turns and fires a few rounds, SAMANTHA watching as the VAN continued to loom closer and closer, SAMANTHA watching as a PACK of WEREWOLVES were closing in, SAMANTHA reaching behind her back as she pulls out a GRAPPLE GUN.
SAMANTHA aims forward and fires the ZIP LINE, the SPIKED END piercing through the VAN before it OPENS UP INTO A HOOK and catches onto the inside of the VAN.
SAMANTHA presses the button and suddenly zips through the air from off of the ROOF as the WEREWOLVES all LUNGED for her, JARED spinning the STING as the CAR sideswipes the WEREWOLVES into the street hard.
SAMANTHA hits the side of the VAN hard but she holds onto the GRAPPLE GUN'S HANDLE and uses the leverage to flip her body upwards and on to the ROOF, SAMANTHA leaning over and presses the button on the GRAPPLE GUN, which retracts the HOOK back into the SPIKE and zips back into the GRAPPLE GUN.
SAMANTHA puts it away and coming over to the ROOF HATCH she enters a CODE into the NUMERIC KEYPAD and twists the hatch handle open as she drops into the VAN just as the WEREWOLVES arrived to begin attacking the VAN.
INT. VAN
SAMANTHA runs to the DRIVERS side and begins flipping switches, pulling levers and then starts up the ignition, SAMANTHA listening to the VAN suddenly power on as JARED presses the EARPIECE in.
JARED
What do we do about the WEREWOLVES?
SAMANTHA
You head on and find CHARLES, I'll take care of these guys, and then round up AUSTIN and RYAN...
JARED
Got it.
JARED swerves the STING and heads off as the WEREWOLVES were no longer interested in attacking the STING anyway, SAMANTHA surveying the cameras as she checks for where they all were attacking from.
SAMANTHA nods and then switches a dial that reads WEREWOLF.
SAMANTHA grabs the controls and presses the triggers on the CONTROL HANDLES.
EXT. VAN
NOZZLES appear from all over and begins dousing the WEREWOLVES with liquid, SAMANTHA watching as she then presses a button.
Suddenly the NOZZLES begin streaming out jets of FIRE, the WEREWOLVES all quickly setting ABLAZE as they HOWL as they are burned to a crisp, SAMANTHA turning the VAN as she throttles and takes off, leaving the WEREWOLVES to burn into ASH.
EXT. STREET
A few street corners away, CHARLES is being drug down the road by his arms by TWO REMNANTS, a LARGE GASH on his head as the MASSIVE AMOUNT OF REMNANTS are all gathering towards a CHURCH at the TOP OF A HILL.
A FEW BLOCKS AWAY
AUSTIN jumps onto a CAR and begins firing from the MACHINE GUN attachment of the FOUR BARREL SHOTGUN, as he was surrounded by GHOULS.
AUSTIN blows the GHOULS back but they just continue to get up and keep coming towards him, AUSTIN switching the gun over to the FLAMETHROWER as he then sprays about and catches the GHOULS on fire.
AUSTIN
I hope RYAN is alright...
A FEW BLOCKS AWAY
RYAN comes crashing through a WINDOW onto the STREET, RYAN wincing as he checks his pocket and feels his PHONE has been shattered.
RYAN
You owe me a new phone asshole!
RYAN stands as a HULKING CREATURE (known as a GOLEM) comes out of the BUILDING as RYAN gets up and grabs the WIDOWMAKER, opening fire as he begins chipping away at the GOLEM but it continues to keep marching towards him as the CLAY AND STONE it was made out of was not being destroyed fast enough.
RYAN braces for another hit as the GOLEM punches RYAN in the chest, RYAN flying down the street like a rag doll as the WIDOWMAKER lay on the ground, it's BODY was caved inwards as the GOLEM had struck it.
RYAN winces as he notices a GROUP of PALE MEN beginning to appear as the SUN was now hidden in the dying rays NIGHT.
RYAN scoots back as the VAMPIRES close in on RYAN, one of them touches the GOLEM and it goes rigid, almost back into a statue.
RYAN reaches into his back back pocket and pulls out a CROSS, The VAMPIRES hissing at him but one of the VAMPIRES knocks the CROSS out of RYAN'S HANDS before grabbing RYAN by his throat.
RYAN is lifted up off of his feet as the VAMPIRE begins stretching it's jaw open as it begins to protrude it's massive FANGS and pulls RYAN closer.
RYAN smirks as it begins to pull him towards it's fangs but as it does RYAN snaps his fingers, the VAMPIRES standing around him looking to see the CROSS suddenly began peeping before the BULB in the middle of the CROSS begins to shine brightly, The VAMPIRES screaming as the UV LIGHT flashes in a giant blast of light, and the VAMPIRE holding onto RYAN screams in pain as the VAMPIRES suddenly dissipate into DUST.
RYAN falls back onto the ground as he catches his breath, RYAN grabbing the cross as he doesn't notice the GOLEM suddenly turning it's head as it moves.
RYAN looks up too late as the GOLEM strikes RYAN again, RYAN flipping onto his back as he coughs up blood.
RYAN moves out of the way as THE GOLEM stomps down where RYAN'S HEAD had been, RYAN crawling as he tries to stand up but winces in pain as the GOLEM begins stomping towards RYAN.
RYAN spins around as he aims at it with his .45 but as the GOLEM rears back to punch down at a defenseless RYAN, who is about to fire, only to watch as the GOLEM explodes into BITS OF STONE AND DUST as a ROCKET had struck it at point blank range.
RYAN screams at the suddenness of it all and looking behind him he sees that SAMANTHA'S VAN is parked behind him, SAMANTHA getting out of the VAN as RYAN stands and kicks some of the shards of the GOLEM way from him.
RYAN
Fucking GOLEMS.
SAMANTHA
Where's AUSTIN?
RYAN
Where's JARED?
SAMANTHA
I had him go pick up CHARLES.
RYAN
So I guess we're sitting pretty for a moment...
The TWO don't notice their shadows beginning to suddenly form together and slowly shift and begin to circle them.
SAMANTHA
Yeah looks like, you alright?
RYAN
Yeah, I think I got a broken rib, but eh, that usually always happens after I...
The SHADOW suddenly forms into a FIGURE between the TWO, RYAN and SAMANTHA unable to act as the FIGURE lashes at both sides and sends RYAN and SAMANTHA to the ground.
The TWO fall over hard but quickly recover and step back as the SHADOW begins forming into a shape, revealing a humanistic face but with it's body completely immersed in the purplish black shadows that make it up.
RYAN
No fucking way...
SAMANTHA
...ADAM?
ADAM NEWBURRY smiles at them as he looks at the TWO.
ADAM
Hello, SAMANTHA...RYAN.
RYAN
What the fuck is this, MONSTER and HUNTER reunion day?
ADAM
You're still as coy as ever.
RYAN
How are you even alive?!
ADAM
You honestly didn't think you chanting an incantation would actually stick did you?
SAMANTHA
You used an incantation to try and kill a PHANTOM? Are you that stupid?
RYAN
Whose side are you on!!
ADAM
Relax...I just needed to get your attention.
RYAN

ADAM
Think of my services as freelance...
RYAN

ADAM

SAMANTHA

ADAM
My services, seeing how PHANTOMS such as myself are of a rare breed nowadays. So I'm an attractive offer for guys like they YATES..or even our old friend NICK...and his little crew of WRAITHS.
RYAN
I feel some PIG LATIN coming on...
ADAM

RYAN

ADAM

SAMANTHA

ADAM shifts his eyes towards her as he smirks.
ADAM
When I call in a favor...two years from now...I demand your help, no questions asked...
RYAN

ADAM

SAMANTHA
Why are you turning on the other MONSTERS?
ADAM
I'm bored, and I don't think they'll succeed. So yes? Or no?
ADAM turns as AUSTIN appears from an ALLEYWAY, AUSTIN aiming at him but lowers his weapon as he notices everyone else was standing down.
AUSTIN
You're alive?
ADAM
And so are you? How have you been AUSTIN?
AUSTIN
Is this a TUSCON reunion?
RYAN
Seems to be.
SAMANTHA
What's happening in TWO YEARS?
ADAM
It has not come to pass...though it will. And when this event happens, I only acquire you and RYAN...
SAMANTHA
Fine.
RYAN
WHAT?!
SAMANTHA
We need the help...PHANTOM or not...we all have...a history.
RYAN
Goddamnit.
ADAM
RYAN?
RYAN
Did you have to punch me in the chest when you showed up?
ADAM
Let's say payback for trying to banish me all those years ago.
RYAN

ADAM

SAMANTHA

AUSTIN?

ADAM

CHARLES has been captured.
SAMANTHA

ADAM
At a CHURCH. Located at the top of the hill about a mile from here.
JARED
(O.S.)
SAMANTHA!
SAMANTHA presses her ear piece in.
SAMANTHA
JARED?! JARED! Listen to me, CHARLES has been captured...
JARED
(O.S.)
Yeah I know...
STREETS AWAY
JARED is surrounded by REMNANTS, VAMPIRES, WEREWOLVES, and GHOULS.
JARED
(O.S.)
...They got me too...
SAMANTHA looks horrified as RYAN and AUSTIN look at her as ADAM folds his arms.
SAMANTHA
JARED! JARED...
ADAM
Don't bother...he's been taken to the CHURCH...
SAMANTHA
WHERE IS IT!
RYAN
What's the matter, SAMANTHA? Oh wait, the best team of MONSTER HUNTERS in the world is down to one...because TWO of them got kidnapped...
SAMANTHA screams and spin kicks RYAN across his face, RYAN spinning a complete 360 as he lands on the ground hard, SAMANTHA climbing on top of him as she rears back to punch him across his face as RYAN looks about dazed, SAMANTHA beginning to shake as she then hits RYAN with such force as RYAN spits out blood and goes out stone cold.
SAMANTHA breathes heavy as she rears back to hit him again but ADAM grabs her arm.
ADAM
Don't...it's not going to help your friends...
SAMANTHA
They're not my friends...they're my partners...my family...he has no right to say that...
AUSTIN
True, but did you have to knock him out? We may need him...
SAMANTHA
I'm not doing anything with him...not anymore...he's on his own.
AUSTIN
SAMANTHA...
SAMANTHA
If you want to join him then do so! But I'm going to get my people back, and I'm going to stop those fucking YATES...ADAM?
ADAM
My services are yours to command.
SAMANTHA
Go scope it and meet me at it's base.
ADAM
You got it.
ADAM comes over and nudges RYAN who doesn't move.
ADAM
See you around.
ADAM disappears into RYAN'S shadow.
SAMANTHA goes towards her VAN as AUSTIN looks from her to RYAN with uncertainty as he shakes his head and goes to the VAN, SAMANTHA starting it up as she closes the door when AUSTIN gets in, SAMANTHA driving past RYAN'S unconscious body as RYAN lay on the BARREN STREET alone and knocked out cold.
As the WIND seems to pick up around his body, KRIS SCRUGGS, the WRAITH, appears out of nowhere as he looks down at RYAN'S body.
KRIS
Good grief.
KRIS shakes his head and watching the VAN round a corner he grabs RYAN'S body and disappears with it.
