Chapter 4 - Icy the Ice Emperor Scorpion

Steve's group's location...

"Charlotte, summon out your Bravy," said Steve. "Let him circle us in the sky and keep alert us if there are monsters coming."

"Okay," said Charlotte. She took out her monster card from her pocket and tapped her forehead with it. "Come out, Bravy." A ball of white light came out from the card and turned into an eagle.

|Bravy|

Race: Wind Eagle (Eaglet)

Level: 20

Quality: Copper 2 stars

Resistance: None

Abilities: Call of the wind, drill dive, sword charge,

Characteristics: Brave, territorial, fast, agile, superb eyesight

Potential: Dark Gold 3 stars

Weakness: Doesn't like water, weak defense

Bravy flew up to the sky and circled Steve's group.

"Okay, so let's split up and gather some supplies. We are going to be evaluated on how strong we can make our defense and how strong of a monster we can take down as a team," said Steve. "I suggest that we use our first day to gather supplies, the second day to make our base, the third day to test out our defense and then make it better, the fourth and fifth day to focus on our teamwork, and the sixth and seventh day to test out our defense with wild monsters and then perfecting the base. How does that sound?"

"Sounds great," said Kim. Hazel and Locke nodded in agreement. As for Charlene and Charlotte, well they wouldn't really going to argue against their own brother, as long as they didn't seriously disagree with him.

"Well then, let's get going. Kimberley, Locke, and Hazel, you three go together. Charlotte and Charlene, you two go together." said Steve. He looked at Charlotte and Charlene, thought for a bit, and then took out the a monster card from his pocket. He tapped his forehead with the card, and said, "Come out, Leon." A ball of white light came out from the card and turned into a 5 feet long chameleon.

Steve crouched down and whispered into Leon's ear. "Leon, look after Charlene and Charlotte and protect them if they get in danger. Don't do anything unless you are sure that they can't handle things by themselves." Leon nodded and walked towards Charlene and Charlotte.

Steve then took out his own monster card and tapped his forehead with it. "Come out, Uni." A ball of white light came out from the card and turned into a unicorn (hid her horn). Steve then told Uni the same thing he told Leon, except that she was supposed to look after Kimberley, Hazel, and Locke. Uni nodded walked towards them.

"I told them to look after you so you should all be fine," said Steve.

"But what about you," asked Charlene.

"I've got another one," said Steve.

"What? But don't you only have 2 monster cards?" Charlene asked, but Steve had already ran away, leaving the rest of the group behind and avoiding the question. After a few minutes, Steve slowed down to a stop. He started to ask the system with his mind.

[I understand, my lord.]

A lottery screen appeared in front of Steve. It had nine sections, each with a different color. Steve commanded the system to spin the lottery. The system obeyed and began the lottery. The needle started spinning and stopped at the border between the white and blue section of the lottery, and it then moved a tiny bit to the white section of the lottery.

[Obtained Legend quality 5 stars monster Ice Emperor Scorpion (Youngster).]

[Emmm...]

Steve said to the system. Steve reached his hand into his pocket and took out the monster card. He tapped his forehead with the card and said, "Come out." A ball of white card out from the card and turned into a 6 feet long scorpion, including the tail.

Steve asked the system.

[Yes, in human terms, she is still a kid. It is unsure how long she will be, but I can say that her body will be at least 10 feet long, including the tail, when she becomes an adult.]

said Steve. He then asked the Ice Emperor Scorpion, "Can you transform into a human?"

The Ice Emperor Scorpion nodded. She was surrounded by bright white light, which dispersed after a few seconds. The human-sized scorpion was no longer there and in its place was a girl who looked to be about 8 years old. She had beautiful jade green eyes and long, pale blue hair that hang loose all the way down to the back of her stomach. She wore an emerald green dress that reached down a bit past her knees, a snow-white jacket that was unzipped, a pair of snow-white gloves, a pair of snow-white knee socks, and a pair of snow-white shoes.

"Oh my god!" Steve exclaimed. "So pretty!"

"Thank you for the praise, master," said the girl.

"You can speak human language?" Steve asked, surprised.

"Yes, but only when I am in human form," said the girl. "I can only speak human language with my mind when I am in monster form."

"That's still pretty amazing," said Steve. "So what name would you like?"

"I'll take any name that you give me, master," said the girl.

"Any name? Then how about... Icy," said Steve.

"That shall be my name from now on," said the girl, smiling.

Then they heard a scream. Steve turned to look at the direction the scream came from. He turned around and looked at Icy. "Do you want to see what's going on?"

"Whatever you want, master," said Icy.

"Then let's go," said Steve, running towards the direction the scream came from. Icy followed close behind.

"Summon all of your monsters to fight! Don't hold anything back" a man shouted. His name was Steward, and he was the leader of the Raven squad. The Raven squad was small, but they were pretty well off. Most the the squad members had a few dark gold quality monsters with some members having one epic quality monster, which allowed them to not really encounter much danger every time they went to the monster territory, especially since they could pretty much handle epic quality monsters.

This time, however, they ran out of luck and encountered a legend quality 1 star monster- Three-horned Serpent. They couldn't outrun the Three-horned Serpent, so their only chance of survival was to fight and defeat it. Hower, the Three-horned Serpent was level 61, equivalent to a level 69 epic quality 5 stars monster. The Three-horned Serpent also had a domain ability, something that only monsters who were legend quality and above could have.

Domains abilities changed the weather of the area surrounding the monster, which would benefit the monster using the domain. The Three-horned Serpent had a flame domain- which cause the area to be surrounded by flames. The reason that the forest wasn't on fire was that the trees and plants had evolved and became much more resistant against attacks after the monsters came to the world. The trees kind of resistant to fire, but the main reason why the forest wasn't on fire was because the Three-horned Serpent had no intention to light the trees on fire or destroy the forest.

The Raven squad was trying their best to fight the Three-horned Serpent, but the domain put them at a large disadvantage and their monster could barely hold on. Steve was on a branch, watching the events fold out from a distance of about 6 kilometers. The branch that he was standing on was hidden by the leaves and other branches of the tree that the branch was on.

"Master, should I go and help them?" asked Icy.

Steve nodded. "Help them. Try not to harm their monsters though."

"Understood, master," said Icy. She jumped down from the branched and ran towards the Three-horned Serpent.

"Little girl! Get away from here! It's dangerous!" yelled Steward when he saw Icy coming towards them. He was horrified to see that a little girl was going towards the Three-horned Serpent.

However, Icy ignored his words.

"Everyone! Stop using ranged attacks!" Steward yelled. "Use close-ranged attacks at the monster and be careful not to harm the girl."

Icy had already reached the Three-horned Serpent and stood in front of it. The fire created by the Three-horned Serpent's flame domain dispersed and was replaced by large sheets of ice. The sky in the surrounding area became dark and was covered with clouds and the originally sunny weather of the surrounding area was now blizzarding. This was Icy's own domain- frost domain- and it had replaced the Three-horned Serpent's flame domain.

Icy grabbed one of the three horns of the Three-horned Serpent with her right hand, and, under the shocked eyes of the squad members of the Raven squad, picked up the Three-horned Serpent and slammed it back down. She picked it up and slammed it down for a few times. The squad members of the Raven squad watched in shock, their jaws dropped down and opened so wide that they could fit an apple in their mouth. Their monsters were not better off. They were so shocked that they forgot to attack. Well, it's not like their attacks would do anything.

After a while, Icy put the Three-horned Serpent down. The Three-horned Serpent was still alive and got up and tried to attack Icy, but Icy stabbed the Three-horned Serpent with the stinger on the tip of her tail on the Three-horned Serpent's body. Icy's stinger penetrated the tough scales of the Three-horned Serpent and used extreme frost poison- one of the deadliest poisons there was. The poison took effect immediately. The Three-horned Serpent fell down again, paralyzed. After a few seconds, the Three-horned Serpent stopped breathing and died.

Icy turned off her frost domain, and the blizzard died out, the ice melted, and the weather became sunny again. The Raven squad was shocked at everything that happened. They were shocked at Icy's tail that appeared and disappeared out of nowhere, shocked at how easily the Three-horned serpent was killed, shocked at how they encountered a legend quality monster but survived, but they were mostly shocked at Icy's strength.

Icy turned around and looked at the Raven squad with cold, indifferent eyes.

Steward gulped. He was the leader of his squad, so he decided that he should be the one to talk. "Miss, thank you for saving us. We would like to repay you in the future if we can. Will you please tell us your name?"

"I am the Ice Emperor Scorpion," said Icy. "You do not need to repay me or thank me. If you want to thank someone, thank my master. He was the one who told me to help you."

Icy then pointed at the corpse of the Three-horned Serpent. "Now, I'll be taking this little snake. Any objections?"

"No, of course not," said Steward. The rest of the members of the Raven squad all shook their heads rapidly. How could they object? Not to mention the fact they were just saved by Icy, they probably wouldn't even be a match for Icy is she decides to take it forcefully.

Icy nodded. She then walked to the tail of the Three-horned Serpent and dragged it along by the tail and walked away into the forest.
